I know it's the running joke, but I lived there around 2007-ish and had no complaints. Wasn't nice by any means, but it's good enough for a college kid.

Staring Motel is better. It's only 125.00 a week too.

It's a half step behind gaslite if that makes any difference

Gaslite looked really rough when I was at LSU. Good location, horrible building.

When I lived there (2011ish) a fight broke out in the courtyard because one dude wouldn't be quiet and another dude's girl was having trouble concentrating on her studies

a few weeks later some people got robbed by guys who lived in the embassy across the street

one of the apartments was pretty much a trap house too

i'd recommend it, it was interesting

Was Ok '74-'76. Moved out after rent was incrreased for the second time. I think to about $230/month. Might have been $180/month in June 1974. Across Burbank where the condos are was woods and an oil well. Used to go shoot snakes in the ponds

Honestly the apartment itself was not so bad. It was old and small and only had a single cable line (i had to split it myself to have TV in my bedroom and living room) and there were occasional roaches

but it was alright

the clientele, though. hoo boy.

It's pretty amazing how fast apartment complexes in Baton Rouge turn into total shitholes. It's kind of impressive in its own way.

this is the damn truth...they build them and then turn them over to a management company to guard the cashflow stream. no maintenance at all other than painting every semester is done for decades.

A guy I know lived there. His apartment got broken into. The guy who broke in stole his money, drank all his beer out of his fridge, then pissed on his bed and couch.

It wasn't bad circa 1998. Hell back then Aster wasn't that bad. By 2002 it was a place you didn't want to be. Though I haven't been out that way in years. I'm still in shock by how wide Burbank is and that Bluebonnet goes to River road.

It's got its own funky charm.

I used to hang out with some New Iberia chicks that lived there. I mean I kinda felt sorry for them as I was inTiger Plaza and all.

But dammit, l felt good for my efforts at comforting the less fortunate.
