I don't think one person has said that spending less is bad advice, what you don't seem to grasp is that people today can do the exact same things you did to a T and still not be able to build as much wealth anymore. That doesn't mean the people who point it out to you are struggling; in fact, I'd be willing to bet several of the posters who have tried reasoning with you are much more successful.
