If you can find one, you can buy someone's racecar they are selling for about half price. I always heard you put 20-50k in these things and only get 10-25k when you sell

LS motors are the best for hot rodding. They are cheap and the aftermarket support is great and they are easy to build. You can cherry pick things that are better about the ford but as a whole for the average dude the LS is the shite.
Only reason to put a LS motor in a Mustang is because you got one basically for free out junkyard and have the skills and knowledge to do the swap yourself. You can't run one on the EEC-IV so you have to either rig up a GM computer and change a lot of sensors or go to an aftermarket EFI and still change most of the sensors. People who do that work and know what they are doing charge about $100/hour and they can put in a 40 hour week on the car if everthing goes well with a EFI system they can put a base tune in. So $4,000 in labor plus $2,000+ EFI system just to have a car that runs. Can buy a built SBF long block with all the forged internals the LS engine doesn't have, aluminum heads, and have a running car with a better foundation for 600+HP. You can talk all you want but it's easy to pick out the keyboard warriors who only read about these kinds of things vs. those who have turned wrenches on these things.

We ain't fans of nos. We getting over 600 at the wheels on a 2018 stang by only adding a blower.
You can buy the 2018 Mustang crate engine with transmission and computer. We just dropped one in a kit car.
Of course back in my day we only had Fords so we walked everywhere.

Where do you live? I may know someone that would put the Ford engine in it.

As long as it's a dyno queen and stays on street tires. The block itself is at its limit at 450-500hp if you actually try to race it without putting in a girdle. OP can chase down a rare B50 or A4 block or just get a Dart block to build from.

Its building a 600hp V8 with fuel injection. You have to buy some parts and stick them together.

You don't need NOS to get 600 hp from a Coyote. Ford racing makes a couple of versions ready for a supercharger, depending on the boost, etc. And you can get better pricing from dealers, etc online.
But regardless of engine you're going to need a big investment in electronic controls, exhaust, cooling system, transmission, driveshaft, differential, brakes and suspension to handle that extra power. A fox body Mustang platform was not made for that much power.
You would be cheaper to sell the fox and buy a Mustang GT or such. better driving and handing and better resale.
Good luck.

One of my friends owns(ed) the Turbo Turd (Truck LS swapped Fairmont) that Parish built 10+ years ago. Basically kicked off the whole cheap-LS-swap idea. That car was a runner, but it was rough. Welds for the turbo plumbing and roll cage looked like a mud wasp got into some JB Weld. The car basically needed to be driven with a couple of mechanics in close persuit...

Fletcher Cox in Yazoo City has a fast fox body mustang.
NFL fans might already know the name Fletcher Cox. He’s the Defensive Tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles, but what many might not know is that the football pitch isn’t the only place Cox likes to let out his competitive side.
Cox is a hardcore drag racing fanatic and a gearhead through and through, finding his passion in his childhood days spent with his brother watching the cars at drag strips in Mississippi.
His Mustang is powered by a billet 481x Proline motor with two 102mm turbos, with boost controlled by a pair of Turbosmart wastegates and a Race Port blow-off valve. With this setup, Cox’s Mustang has become the fastest stock suspension car in the world, reaching an unbelievable 212mph in the eighth mile!

All things equal they don't.
Hell this is the outdated LS3 vs the Coyote, the LT1/LT4 would be a bigger gap.
Built LS3 vs Built Coyote
quote:
We can see that when the Coyote and LS power and torque curves are overlaid the LS comes on stronger and sooner (556.3 hp at 6,500 rpm and 498.0 lb-ft at 5,000rpm) than the Coyote (510.4 hp at 7,600 rpm and 398.4 lb-ft at 5,400 rpm), but makes it’s downturn sooner in the rpms.
So not surprisingly the Coyote is more efficient, but makes less power, heavier, and is more expensive to build. That said it's a great engine and they sound great.

If you really have the money, and are serious about it- Gearhead Fab in Stuart, FL
He’s more populary known for what he’s doing with Hellcats, but I was with him a few years ago picking up a blown 1500 and he showed me a high hundreds hp Fox body that was easily the nicest one I’ve ever seen. He has a real passion for them.

Why would you buy a fox body and replace the engine?
The reason people buy them is cheap access to the 5.0.
You sure as shite aren't buying it for the looks.

A GM engine in a Ford will cost a fortune.
With the ECM, sensors, mounts, etc,, you'll end up with a GM that looks like a Ford.
