That’s pretty impressive. What did you listen to in the 90’s? Church radio?

Not hip hop..... Really didn't give a shite about it... Like what it sounds like today, buddy of mine calls it "mumble rap"...

You do realize there's other music genres out there huh? and no, not church music..

Not even if you heard the lyrics, “Snoop Doggy Dogg”?

Him collaborating with Martha Stewart was the best thing that he ever chose to do. It exposed him to an entirely new audience.

Money greater than persona.....

I figured it proved they were always acting. Neither ice character has a record to back their musical claims.

My point was that he was such a powerhouse in the 90’s (and again briefly when he did the album with The Neptunes) that it would have seemingly been hard to avoid him unless you just didn’t listen to music.

And this username is garbage. I just don’t know how to change it.

and so is Taylor Swift, today... Only reason I know her songs is because of my daughter..

I grew up listening to Black Sabbath, Zeppelin, Kiss, Rush, the Police to Metalica, Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains. Also liked New Wave and Punk to Funk and Fusion, Hip Hop just didn't appeal to me.

You mean the song he stole from George Clinton? Yeah, I do know that one...

He's the Willie Nelson of rap. A hardcore stoner, easy going, affable personality, loves to laugh and have fun.

Just as many Americans consider Willie a national treasure, so do many think the same of Snoop D-O-double-G

Seems to me to just be an average looking rapper with a dopey personality.
What gives?

You must be under 20 or over 70. No other real explanation for you not to understand the cross over appeal of Snoop Dogg in pop culture. Even if rap/hip hop isn't your thing.

Snoop is affable. He's got a good personality.

Old school charisma still matters.

You are missing his point entirely, which was even though you may not care for rap, you have probably heard some of his songs which were huge in the 90s.

I hate boy bands but it was impossible to avoid hearing their shite in the 90s. I don't need to virtue signal about all the great music that I like to make this statement either.
