That's what I want to know. I'm wondering if it's those mobile radars that tell you your speed they put out all over.
It’s off duty LEO with a LiDAR radar gun that has a plate reader. Company pays the off duty to run the system. They get your vehicle info from Datamaxx NCIC switch.

He will be parked on the side of the road on hwy 65 going towards Waterproof. It's a manned camera. I thought it would be an unmanned remote camera at first, but that's not the case.

Right. He’s on the west side of the road. Checks speed as soon as you are on the south side of the 40mph sign.

I drive through Clayton all the time and I’ve never seen something that looks like a camera. Was it on 425 or 65?
Same…I wouldn’t think there would be enough traffic in Clayton to mess with a traffic camera.

I saw one of those mobile radars set up in Livonia which is why I was asking if those things have cameras on them. It was on 190 west as you entered town.
That one got me a couple weeks ago. I told the wife to not pay it but she did anyway

Don’t give them a penny.
First month they wrote 850 tickets. Someone I know got 7 tickets in 1 day. Another got 4 in a day.
The radar is run by a 3rd party company that gets around 30-40% of each ticket. (Approximately $54/ticket). You can find the details on google. It’s very much like BR/NO.
Everyone in a 40mi radius is convinced they’ll go to jail if they don’t pay it.
Ridiculous.
Put the Pedal to the metal.
If they want to play big city games, they need big city treatment.

The sign shall comply with the current manual and specifications adopted by the Department of Transportation and Development pursuant to R.S. 32:235
I passed through Clayton a couple weeks ago. They had a metal folding chair by the side of the road with a sign that said something like “Camera Enforced.”
Then there was a dude standing beside a silver car parked in the grass that had a camera on a stick that I guess had a built in radar.

Never pay to those. I’ve had at least 20 and haven’t paid one.

Prima Facie.
Prove it was me.
Case dismissed.
Well that would be the case IF you were given a court date on a summons to appear. You did not which bypasses the right to face your accuser of said crime/violation.
ETA: That dip$h!t officer being arrested in a prostitution sting is frickin epic. Great catch! Love it!!

I’d pay it, you don’t want to get caught and have someone telling you
“what we’ve got hereeeee is failure……….to communicate”!
Comedic reference to Cool Hand Luke scene and the Captain. For those who don’t know.

Thank you for the warning. I pass through there on my way to LP

The big question on all of this is will it impact your drivers license renewal or the title of your car if you sell it. I got a red light ticket in Lufkin that I completely forgot about/had no intention of paying. When I went to sell my car, the title was flagged. I had to pay the ticket and wait for the flag to be removed in the system. It took several weeks. Just like the ones y'all are talking about, it was an outside company and a collection agency. They are the only way to pay and they only report it back to the state a few times a month.

Does not. Renewed DL and tag, bought and sold cars over the years, titled vehicles and boats. Never once did all my unpaid camera tix ever come up. Been called numerous times by collection ppl, told them to pound sand and blocked the number.

LiDAR radar gun
No such thing. It's either laser or radar.
My guess is that it is a very low-powered K-band radar system that is obtaining your speed and a camera snaps a picture of your license plate.

True, but most likely this is a civil fine to which your above statement does not apply.

Got one of these recently. I LOLd and threw that crap in the trash. What a fricking joke these towns are.

They had those in Tennessee a few years ago. Some State Representative gave a speech on the State Senate floor, telling citizens those cameras were illegal and citizens should throw the letter in the trash.
My wife and I both got a ticket. We never paid. Now the Cameras are off.
