Got a speeding ticket in Clayton Louisiana mailed to my house 9mph over. Ticket is $180. It’s from Clayton Police Department but also a third party company. Says if I do not pay I will be referred to collection agency. Should I pay or is this BS and nothing to worry with?

Haha, my Dad called with the same question yesterday.

Haven't had time to look into it yet.

Guessing the quickcourt.biz/clayton-cam is an identifier of it being bullshite.

I’ve heard a lot about these camera tickets in small towns recently. Are people getting these on those mobile radars set up on the side of the highway? I drive a lot and I’ve seen those set up in little towns across Louisiana pretty often recently.

I drive through Clayton all the time and I’ve never seen something that looks like a camera. Was it on 425 or 65?

I would be very curious to know what "Witnessed & Reviewed by" actually means.

I saw one of those mobile radars set up in Livonia which is why I was asking if those things have cameras on them. It was on 190 west as you entered town.

I always thought they were just showing your speed and telling you to slow down. Not sending out god damn tickets too.

Best answer to these is to take a picture of the money and mail it back to them.

Take it to court. But don't take Vasoline, use KY. Vasoline can cause cancer.

You are not following the $25k, 1/4 rule. If there are houses worth less than $25k, there is never any reason to go within 1/4 mile of there.

Some of the houses close to that intersection are shown to worth $10k on Zillow.

Following the rule could have voided any attempts at extortion by people claiming to be representatives of some wee municipality road-pirate brigade.

Clayton Louisiana

I passed through here on my first trip to NE LA. It was a late winter overcast day and made it one of the most depressing places I've ever seen. I didn't see a single house/business that wasn't run-down/ abandoned.

That is an economically challenged town and this is the OT. Send them $250.00 and tell them to keep the change.
