Basically impossible, he ran it dry and for a good bit of time to melt that hole. Aluminum is an excellent conductor of heat, and water would have melting a hole like that damn near impossible without one hell of a blow torch. The heat capacity of water is such that you can make a pot out of plain paper and boil it over an open flame without burning through the paper.

Have seen seasoning clump up in the bottom and the fire burn thru that spot.

First, that’s not a Cajun Rocket Pot. Your boy tried to weld his own and ended up creating a fricking hot spot giving the flame nowhere to disperse. Square tubing was obviously a terrible idea.

This is the Rocket Pot. The studs are designed to disperse heat quicker and more evenly.

The OP pot is from a company called high performance cooker and they are somehow related to the owners of the rocket pots. I dont remember if it was the same owner or something like that. Rocket pots had the pegs on the bottom like your pic.

The square tube works in a similar way giving more surface area for heat transfer and the tube design help greatly in the wind keeping heat on the bottom of the pot evenly spread out. I can get my 120qt up to a rolling boil in less than 7 min and the wind doesn't mess with it as much. While pricy its the best crawfish rig I have ever fooled with.

It for sure sounds like it when fired up I love it 7min later its barely purring keeping the water at a rolling boil. Once I drop the crawfish I can be back at a re boil in under a minute.

As a kid I was surprised that I could hold the flame of a match to a water balloon and it wouldn't pop. We're talking a direct flame onto extremely skinny rubber which has a low melting point and is also flammable.

There was no water in the pot when that damage occurred.

Yeah this is either due to them not being honest about the water or getting the worst quality pot ever. That shouldn’t happen

I’d put that picture all over their reviews until they sent me a new one.
