Bitcoin cratered Thursday, living up to its volatile reputation after hitting a 17-month high a day earlier.

The world's most widely traded cryptocurrency dropped to a low of $11,346.85 Thursday morning — a more than $2,000 drop from where it was trading Wednesday.

Between the volatility and the potential to get your coins stolen, I bowed out of the game a couple years ago. Just not safe. I did make money though so that was nice.

He’s turned $6000 into +$200,000 and hasn’t taken any profit?

When will people stop FOMO'ing into buying. Set a buy order where you're comfortable and wait for it to hit. It was $8k two weeks ago and it wouldn't surprise anyone if it hits that number again.

It's almost inconceivable. I think BIL is lying to BIL.

10,758.00 currently. As long as the value of crypto is remotely as volatile as it is now it will NEVER be a mainstream currency. It will be a speculatory investment or a medium or a medium for quick turnaround short term conversion and movements of illicit/shady money or used to quickly and cheaply move money around the world to be quickly liquidated again.
