Buy really high quality tools (hammers, screw drivers, socket wrenches, power tools, etc.). They are worth the extra money.
Great tools can literally last a lifetime. Cheap tools will degrade quickly, make any job more difficult, and eventually will need to be replaced.
There's also nothing more infuriating than having a necessary tool break on you in the middle of a job and it brings the entire thing to a screeching halt.

The best investments may take time to discover. SportsGuyNola is on the same page. Look at what your “luxury” Lexus has saved over time (I bought a used 460GX). Unbelievable vehicle. We’ll never buy anything but Toyota/Lexus (other than Honda/Acura if it’s a ridiculous offer.)
I’d love to have Speed Queen, but it’s not necessary. We bought a set from Whirlpool in ‘98 (I think). I have replaced the big main spinning selector $13 (eBay), the dog ears multiple times $3. Replaced the rotator belt drum for the dryer $12. It’s just easy to save money.
I was given a 2018 set of washer/dryer after someone passed and I sold them. The things built today are meant to breakdown quickly.

Saddleback wallet. Not terribly expensive in it's self but us in comparison to the everyday 20 bucks wallet. Mines great after 14 years

My pre freedom group 870 express magnum has 30k rounds through it and my Browning Silver hunter has 18k rounds through it. Both have been fully submerged multiple times both have been used as pirogue paddles and the 870 has been used an alligator beating stick to get it away from me. Bothe have been frozen solid and the only thing I’ve had to replace is the feed tube spring on the browning after saltwater ate it up. I can buy both of those, twice, for the price of an M2. Get outta here with that shite

Speed queen washer and driers.
I bought my wife a speed Queen washer & dryer set some years ago. Seems like it’s been less than 10 years. The washer, no issues. The dryer, it went out a couple years ago. Got it repaired and now just this weekend it has gone out again. Kinda disappointing.
What sucks though is I know if I get anything else, it will last 2-3 years instead of almost 10.

I got a speed queen washer, but read the dryers weren't anything special.

My Speed Queen washer is the ONLY thing in my house I don't feel ripped off on. It's about 10 years old now and built like a tank. Works as good as the day I got it.

Western Mountaineering Megalite sleeping bag with 2oz of overfill. Think I paid around $330 for it in the early 2k's. They run over $600 for my config now but it's worth it having a good sleeping bag if you camp a lot.
