$3,000,000 in liquid assets when I checked 5+ years ago.

There were other requirements i can't really remember, like proximity to a college and previous experience with other food service ventures, but the $3,000,000 is what stood out to me. I thought that was nuts. Sounded like they were restricting franchises on purpose.

I remember emailing somebody in corporate at the time and getting an info sheet with the details sent back to me.

Their website says they aren't interested in franchising right now.

That said, I happen to know a similar sized restaurant costs about 300-400k to start up, and the initial fee is like 30-40k.

I know, which is why we were blown away by that number. Didn't seem realistic, but I promise that is what they told me.

They are finally opening a store where I wanted to back then. Clear Lake area outside of Houston.

Talked to a buddy this weekend who is a commercial land owner in Baton Rouge. He was recounting how Todd Graves offered him a stake in Cane's back in the day in return for an extended lease at a low price on a spot near LSU. My buddy turned him down and told him the concept would never fly. But he says he still knows Todd and he is a decent guy. I respect that he is self made. Do you have any PERSONAL first or second hand knowledge that he is a "douche" or did you just hear that and repeating it on the internet?
