Mackey fired at the officers in a home's backyard, hitting Jacobs multiple times, Miller said.
It is not believed that the officers returned fire.
I don't know the whole story, but I wonder if the officers didn't shoot because of the shitty world we live in today for fear that if they did shoot the guy there'd be an uproar like we've seen all over the last few years.

Catch 22.
I don't think an employee should be fired for having a certain opinion.
However, when you start voicing that opinion to customers/clients and start causing your employer to lose business because of it, your termination is justifiable.
The 1st Amendment protects your speech from government repercussions. Not employer repercussions.
Freedom of speech. Not freedom from consequences.

I figured the shooter snuck up from behind somehow.

I'm against people getting fired for free speech. The worker is an idiot but I believe in her right to say what she said.
If you owned that BK and her words costed you revenue would you still hold this belief?

"The cashier told WYFF News 4 that the Burger King owner called and offered her job back today, but the cashier's not sure if she's going to take it."
