Rule always has been check a guys hands and knuckles before starting shite.
It will soon expand to check a guys ears. If you see the slightest of cauliflower, let it go.

If I am being honest, I used to get in fights a lot as a kid before being put on Ritalin. I used to stand up for myself.
Ritalin turned me into a pacifist in dealing with the teasing of bullies. But also it turned me off to a lot of bullying too.
Maybe before Ritalin I got in fights because I was asking for it, and after the med I didn't get in fights because I wasn't a target.
There was really only one altercation after when I was on Ritalin, and I took care of that physically.
So, I do do it and have done it the right way with standing up for myself, but only when it is/has gone physical.
I don't let just words drive me to physicality.
In the video we see the bully get beyond just fun/playful pushing, he does really physical pushes.
I think the fighting back is justified.
I think the kid that fought back won the fight at the throw to the ground. He didn't have to wail on the kid.
Just my opinion.

When I was in HS we had a racial deal go on. I watched 5 thugs corner a nerdy band dude in the SR locker bay. Nerdy band dude happend to hold a black belt.

Did anyone notice that the kid was probably getting called a fig because he was carrying a purse? He's wearing a purse on his left arm. This was the start of his transitioning and the bully was calling him out.

TBH, we don't know the other kid was a bully. He shoved first, but we don't know what led up to it.

Seriously though..why the frick was the bully wanting more?? He got his arse kicked and he's lucky to not have his arm broken in half..

You're an idealist and I get that. In a perfect world, there would be no bullies and with no bullies, there would be no need for violence. The trouble is that most bullies won't stop punching you in the face long enough to get philosophical about it. Bullies need a dose of realism which is the very real possibility that they will get their arse beat in front of an audience. The kid in the video actually did the bully a favor.
