Well, yeah. That's what Roger said, and since he gave no indication that he was speaking metaphorically, I went with my usual strategy of applying the actual definition because words mean specific things.

Although, I think he was actually talking about bartering because currency is backed by a government. Committing armed robbery is not commonly considered analogous, let alone synonymous, with purchasing via currency or bartering for goods and services.

It's no biggie, but people aren't "dense" for assuming Roger meant guns and ammo could be commonly and peacefully exchanged for goods and services when he declared them to be "currency" in the event of economic collapse

I’ve been working up a massive tolerance to microplastics for the last 5 years. My balls are practically swollen with them. Those frickers can have my food supply. They’ll be dead within a week

One of the best things to have is land. The ability to raise food, have access to water, and a decent supply of firewood is a good thing.

I think of it as security. When ANTIFA and BLM were threatening to go to the suburbs I purchased a few thousand rounds each of .556, .357, .38, 9mm, 6.5 Creedmoor and 12 gauge high brass #4 buckshot. Of course, they never did in my area. I’m on the end of a dead end street with elevated position. This house stays dark at night except for the TV and (4) LED nightlights. Enough to illuminate a target.

I think I could survive an onslaught of 10,000. Even though I have no ammo or guns

I look forward to trying it.

Bodies stack I hear.

Did you picture this scenario playing out like the final scene of Young Guns?

The logistics of thirst will make than pretty unlikely inside of 7 days.

Also... There's a reason my truck bug out bag has things to keep you warm, things to be able to catch food, things to purify water, and enough amphetamines/nicotine to keep me walking 40-50 miles per day until I die of thirst.

Why would anyone stockpile anything?

Everything is great.

How about 35 pounds of gold
10000 round of .223 and 6 AR-152
1200 shotgun shells and 5 shotguns
1000 rds of 9 mm and two pistols
1000 rds of 22 mag and two pistols
20000 round of 22 and 4 guns
2 crossbows and 100 arrows
2 years supply of food for 4 people
100 mini propane units stoves etc
100 plus fighting rods and more tackle than typical academy
3 gill nets and several other type nests
12 tents sleeping bags etc
12 life straws, 100s of rechargeable batteries, generators. Solar chargers, seeds etc etc etc

But I have no intention of living through hell anymore

I wonder what happens to game population after 200 million hungry people start hunting for their next meal.

What happens to fish populations in rivers and lakes?

It’s going to be salt water fishing and small game only in about a week.

And, you’ll be better off using traps and nets.

Chickens I’m sure would be great to have.

I guy I worked with used to share his dream of having land where he would breed rabbits. He was a smart first principles kind of guy.

Well, you’re not getting the compounded interest, so no.

Also, go shoot and don’t just stockpile. It’s fun and you’ll be competent.

You should have done this 10 years ago at least, and invested in some reloading equipment.

I have about 3k rounds in 3 different calibers. If I need more than that, I’m already dead

I don't prep necessarily, but I keep a lot of ammo so that I'm not stuck without it. I also reload and have enough powder and primers to make a few thousand rounds. I shoot a lot though. A few thousand rounds would not last all that long for 9mm/.223/300blk
