Any online stores or places y'all know of near North Alabama that's cheaper than Lowe's and home Depot for things like door knobs, light fixtures, fans, electrical boxes, countertops, doors, etc?

I thought trailers came with all of that stuff for the most part.

Raid some local meth labs, I mean abandoned trailers, to find what you need.

In truly custom house a builder will tell you that you need to pick out all the cosmetic stuff like fans, doors, and countertops. He can have recommendations or preferred vendors you can shop with but literally the entire world (through the net) is your store front.

Of course you can just buy a spec home and have let the builder make all the decisions.

Yep, and I'm doing the electrical myself most likely... Hence the electrical boxes.

My house isn't a cookie cutter in suburbia.

You can get Lowes's 10% off coupons or buy some on ebay or at the link below. The website looks sketchy but I have bought coupons from them for several years no problems. I do pay with paypal. Cost about .50 each if you buy 10 or 20 coupons.

Oh wow that’s impressive. You can stand in front of your house and jerk off to the sight of it. So unique.

my wife bought a lot of stuff on overstocked.com. If you take your time with it you can save a lot of money.

Amazon is also great on general things like ceiling fans and things like that. Can get them cheaper that Lowes and Home Depot often.

We just went through this process within the past year.

I found the best prices for a lot of things on Amazon (iknow, I know). Bluetooth sound system with speakers and in-wall amps (I installed myself), Security cameras (I installed), faucets, some custom lighting, high-end kitchen sink, and closet shelving/pantry (installed myself).

Most everything else came from my CG like actual building materials, general plumbing, lighting, toilets, paint...because he could apply his contractor discount.

For the bigger cosmetic things like cabinetry, countertops, flooring we just shopped around local suppliers and sometimes we went with the builders guy, sometime we picked another person who also had a good rep and could do it cheaper. Its a lot of leg work.

Appliances. You cant go wrong with Sears, Lowes, or HD. We shopped locally and on the internet and found that the best prices came from these 3.

Good luck. Don't kill your wife and don't let her kill you.

And those folks will shop their suppliers for the lowest cost possible just as well.
