If you live in Northern Alabama you would be able to answer your own question easier than the majority of the people on the board.

Are you building it yourself? As in doing most of the labor, etc? Or contracting it out?

if you are doing large orders from hd, they will give you a decent discount. go to the contractor's counter and talk to them about it. i did a couple when remodeling my house and it saved me a bit. also as others said, get lowes 10% off coupons online. another money saver is to buy gift cards online. i probably saved a couple thousand in my remodel doing all of the above.

If you want standard contractor-grade stuff, those are the places to shop. For higher quality stuff, you are gonna have to spend a lot of time both online and on the phone. Over the past two weeks, I've spent probably 15hrs just finding knobs for my shower faucet.

My buddy built his own house with cheaper quality stuff. He put solid-core doors with nice knobs throughout the house, and it makes it seem like a much nicer place
