Fox News

quote:

Bud Light's decision to dive into the culture wars was a "bad decision" that defied "virtually every rule in building brands and marketing," a national beer-industry analyst told FOX Business.

He cited a nightmare scenario for Bud Light sales reps in Texas, where the brand has for years has sponsored a large weekly dart league with 100-plus players each Thursday night.

The bar typically sells though three kegs of Bud Light at the event — a total of 495 12-ounce pours.

The bar sold only four 12-ounce Bud Light bottles this week, as the dart players held a mass protest against their league sponsor.

When you've lost the darts players, you know you done fricked up.

From a buddy that works for MillerCoors...I asked him how much this has benefitted them:

"Will know more on Monday (April 17). The Nielsen and IRI data that measures volume thru retailers has a two-week lag time. Will be an interesting read next week."

I know this will only last for a couple months, but I still like seeing it.

I still drink Bud Light. Its actually Miller Lite, was born at the brewery as a Miller Lite, bought at the store as a Miller Lite, Still has Miller Lite fluids inside of can, but when i drink it, I decide that its a Bud Light.

Is there really a way - a true way - to quantify this? These anecdotal stories aren't selling me that it's working......yet.

Although there are a lot of them out now.

I hope it lasts much longer, but you're probably right.

2023 logic. I don’t even drink beer but I approve of the Bud Light boycott.

Go woke go broke. Some people will still be in denial though and claim the country wants this agenda pushed on it, and are discriminatory if they don't.

Probably not in public.

But other posters have pointed out that the direct sales model of beer distributors means that InBev has a VERY good idea of what this is doing to sales within a week.

The thing is, regular BL drinkers will move on to something else and not go back. The market loss over time will be large.

Fat rednecks outnumber fhegs 50 to 1 in crappy beer consumption.

So, what you're saying is that you identify as a transexual Bud Light drinker.

Just checked Anheuser Busch's stock price and it's pretty much back at peak YTD aka all-time high.

From the article...

quote:

"They've already done enough damage in one week to disrupt year-long sales projections," a beer-sales representative who works with national beer retailers such as Costco told FOX Business.

"You don't just make up those sales. People aren't going to drink twice as much Bud Light the following weekend to recover the lost business."

For a brand as large as Bud Light, the public relations calamity already represents millions of lost dollars — even if the consumer revolt ended tomorrow.

I’d just shifted to ultra

Now what should I drink when trying to resist bourbon? Is Miller 64 any good?

Yes, there is. Less than a month ago Anheuser-Busch InBev had a market capitalization of $132 billion. Today, it has dropped to $114 billion, a loss of $18 billion in market share.

Does that quantify it for you?

I was a loyal CL drinker (yes, OT trashy) but have gotten rid of what I had and didn't buy jack shite over the easter holiday. So add me to the group.

I'd just like to see it quantified is all.
