What an interesting marketing case study. They've completely stigmatized their brand among their consumer base in order pander to a group of people that don't buy their product.
Their consumer base is straight white men younger than 50 and they've turned their product into "the gay beer" that guys are going to roast their buddies for drinking. So nobody is going to buy it.

I truly think this is one of the stupidest marketing ideas of all time. Like how do you not know your target audience.
This would be like if a gun company choosing a radical Democrat who's fully in favor of eliminating guns, to be their news spokesperson.
Or like if a tampon/pad company choosing Chris Brown to advertise their products.

So in 2023 the percent of the population that is transgender is 0.5% What marketing geniuses decided to focus on 0.5% of the population and risk offending a bigger portion of the 99.5% of the population. It's like these companies are so obsessed with celebrating sexual deviance they will fall on the sword for it.

Would be willing to bet they have a bunch of young, liberal, white women in their marketing department who were just convinced this enlightened approach would be seen as brave and progressive.

Nope, just one woman in this instance who saw Bud Light that was a brand that was "too fratty."
It was Alissa Heinerscheid, Harvard and Wharton School of Business graduate who became vice president of marketing at Bud Light in short time (10 years) and made this magnificent contribution for InBev shareholders.
