Go woke go broke worked for the first time, except they just lost money and didn’t go broke and I see people drinking Bud Light just as much as before this. All this does is allow them to tell their investors profits are up next year.

Bud Lite just ain't a good beer. I've been boycotting it for 20 years.

losses. "Taking notice" does not mean loss of income. I'm sure they noticed. It's the one job they have.
Let’s simplify the point I was making. If a kid reaches out and touches a flame on a stove, it won’t kill him him or her, but they’ll likely remember the pain and say to themselves, “I sure won’t try that again!”

I don't think it's supposed to be good beer. It's supposed to be smooth. Miller lite is objectively a better beer, but also has a sharper flavor so doesn't go down as smooth.

It did work and it proved that a boycott could work, for at least a certain amount of time. But eventually people will go back to what they know.
Doesn't take long to develop a habit. I think the drinkers that left, have left long enough to settle into a new brand.

This past year the stock prices hit its lowest in October. It was just over $51.00 a share. On Friday its stock closed at $60.17. It has gone as high at $68.00 since October so there was the potential to make some money from this. For people who owned stock, the best thing for them to do was to buy more when the price dropped.

People boycott beer because
they selected a guy who like make up, heels and getting his hair done.

I disagree. They could have easily come out and apologized, said we didn't intend to offend, our customer base is patriotic hard working Americans who love sports, back yard BBQs, concerts and the outdoors. They could have produced a July 4th can with big breasted women firing M-4s while parachuting from C-130 gunships. All would be forgiven. They've done barely nothing.
They are in a catch-22, all of their own creation by partnering with Mulvaney anyway. They can't apologize to their core consumer, or they'll be ripped to shreds by the liberal media and have their LBQTIGVFAYFVIEADVZ rating dropped beyond repair. But had they simply apologized instead of staying on the fence and pretending it didn't happen, they probably would have recouped some of their customers (but been lambasted in the media no doubt). Now, former drinkers have moved on and any apology at this point would fall on deaf ears. So I think Bud Light will just keep riding it out, go back to the former way of advertising, and try to stay clear of controversy. But it's too little too late.

Their customers found out that there are other decent, cheap beers, or spend a litte more and get a really good beer.
The cheapest customer to keep is the one that you already have.
InBev must've skipped Business 101 day.

The Trans thing is a classic example of using controversy to draw attention. Starbucks, Chick Fil A, McDonalds, Hummer, etc. - all do that successfully although never in a way so oblivious to their clientele. Had this stopped there (with a few youtube videos featuring that creepy transgender activist that pretends to be a young girl), Bud Light might have seen a temporary dip in demand from their loyal drinkers. It would have gone away and the entire initiative been dismissed as another minor failure in marketing. Bud Light would have had a bad summer but they'd have recovered by college football season.
The big issue was the foolish executive went on national news to defend her highly political agenda and ended up criticizing Bud Light drinkers. She referred to them as old, out of touch, fratty. She suggested that they were a bunch of poor philistines whose business ABInBev didn't really want.
This would be the equivalent of a Ford product owner or Vice President referring to pickup truck drivers as a bunch of dumb rednecks.
Bud Light's loyal drinkers revolted and answered with a sustained boycott that is still going on. And it was easy to do. There are competitive products with similar prices that sit inches away from Bud Light on store shelves. People tried them and likely realized that Coors, Modelo, or regional pale lagers that are equal or better.
