Makes fun of the OT for a love affair with Buccees then has a 4 paragraph 2 picture word vomit about his love affair with a gas station
:nice:

That’s funny. Cause that’s the same exact issue I have with Louisiana.

mutual deal, stay out of LA and I'll stay out of AL

Give me two or three home SEC games and I’m good. Plus a few games at the Box.

How are you gonna get to Destin if you have to stay out of Alabama

aeroplane? seriously, I've kind of given up on the panhandle, actually did that years ago, to use a word that's overused on here, it's just too trashy anymore, at least for me
Posted on 1/17/19 at 11:16 am to 777Tiger
It really is trashy for the price they expect people to pay. You can pay the same price and stay somewhere way nicer.
Compare the rates in Destin to the rates in Cancun.

absolutely, people need to expand their scope, there are awesome places just outside the US, that blow the FL/AL beach experience out of the water, and as you mention, for probably about the same money, factoring in airfare

I agree. Orange beach is super accessible though to SELA. You could make it a day trip if you so inclined. My parents had a villa on St. Croix that they let go due to the 7.5 hour one way trip just to get to it.

I live in Houston and my parents live in Florida. My new travel routine will be Buc-ees Baytown - shithole gas station in Louisiana - Buc-ees Alabama.
Probably 450 miles or so from Bayton to the Alabama Buc-ees. Would be smart for them to put one in the middle, as 225-250 miles is probably the most a lot of families will travel without stopping.
West Baton Rouge is probably right smack at that distance.

I am assuming the Orange Beach Buccees is meant for Louisiana people headed to Destin.
Or Louisiana people headed to Orange Beach / Perdido. Great place to top off the gas tank / buy beach stuff / other stuff you may need, without paying the inflated prices at the stores near the beach.

Stuckeys > Bucees, more character vs. sterile and generic.
That's fine if you don't like Buc-ees' or want to make fun of people who do.
But WTF are you talking about when you say Buc-ees' is generic? It's the complete opposite of that.

oh, you don't think they'll miss out on the price gouging that goes on down there do you?

Last time I went to the one around Dallas, every single gas pump was occupied. I had to keep circling for a pump to empty. Incredible.

The problem is people fill up then leave their car parked at the pump and go inside for 30-45 minutes walking around.
Went to a few buccees last year and one had a person enforcing people to pump then park.

It's not though. You're trivializing it by putting it in the same vein as a convenience store. It's the size of a grocery store and is the best place to stop on a road trip. It's like in between a nice truck stop and a grocery store. Their bathrooms are cleaner than most people's houses so that's nice too.
So you’re excited about a place you can shop for groceries and pump gas?
The deep south is weird as frick.
