Well, you must not know me. I'm a rational motherfricker.

Maybe under ordinary circumstances, but now when POTUS wants to (already has) opened up the spigot to allow hundreds of thousands, up to a million. I guarantee you that an Interpol check is IT - AT MOST. They run the name, which many of them use the same handful of names, and if nothing glaring pops up - they're in.

I'm not an "open border folk", so you can save your bullshite rhetoric.

So you acknowledge it is a very legitimate concern about bringing so many folks from the area that produces so many of these violent radicals and that the radicals themselves might use our own kindness against us and send hundreds, if not thousands of fighters in using this process?

You don't deny that there certainly seems to be a lot of military age males among these "widows and children"? Or do you consider all of that just paranoia?

This is absolutely insane that we are allowing these people into our country with unfettered access and no background checks.

This is simply not true.

While there are legit concerns around bringing refugees in, they go through multiple background checks and agencies. It is actually a pretty strict system.

One of the San Bernadino attackers went through the same strict system and we saw how that turned out.

Can't wait for the liberals to tell us again how America is the only country in the world where such senseless violence occurs. I'll tell you one thing, if more people had been carrying this would have never happened. Obama taking all their guns

Do you know how ridiculous it sounds that you want to give up your God-given right to defend yourself?

No, that was via a fiancee visa which involves a US citizen. That would be one of the easier ways to enter a country.

The refugee process takes about 3 years I believe. A fiancee visa takes 8 months, maybe less.

Edit: apparently my friend logged in on my computer. This isn't my account

Why do people think that carrying would prevent something like this? These guys aren't exactly advertising their attacks. Some of ya'll must have really good reflexes.

It still requires an stringent background check. They don't just skip the process because they have a voucher/sponsor

I don't think you have thought this out completely. Nevertheless, I really don't want this conversation to turn into a CC/No-CC thread (Like the Paris Thread did). So we're going to agree to disagree.

Tragic, sad and terrible ... when are people going to get wise to the fact that, with a couple of exceptions, wherever there is Islam, there is trouble like this?

I'm afraid it is too late for much of Europe.

My thoughts exactly. This wasn't a firefight. It was an explosion in an Airport check-in & a metro. I don't want to even begin to analyze how open carry or CC in an Airport would be a step in the right direction.

But, they're not going around and beheading/burning alive folks who don't agree, though, right? And haven't for hundreds of years, by and large. You would agree with that, wouldn't you?

Not being closed minded or racist but i honestly think its time to close the door on this culture. "one bad seed has spoiled the whole batch" in my opinion. Maybe the people who are innocent and do not think like these extremists can take matters in their own hands for once and stop being pussies. If you want the world to think differently about that skin color then stand up and fight back against the terrorists that sport that same skin tone

That makes too much sense. We should let them all in the US and hug the radicalism out of them.

Link? We've allowed in roughly 76K and are considering taking in more, from what I understand, the most in 1 city being roughly 3K in San Diego.

Sure? My entire point is we're better suited to take on refugees with our currents systems of vetting and our general federalist system than Europe.

I have no clue. I'm sure it's part fact, part paranoia like most things of this nature.

My educated recommendation is a tattoo on the forehead of every Muslim with the following. At least this is how I view them anyways:

Well, then, frick it - take the guns away from the cops and security if they aren't going to help with suicide bombing.
