What is your understanding of what the police are supposed to do and how would outfit them for the job?

Ted James was real mad the other day because a bumfrick nowhere police chief was stabbed by a white suspect and they didn’t shoot him. They’re mad when cops kill a black dude and mad when cops don’t kill a white dude.

I'd love to see what you would do if put in this situation.

Well I would say get them out of the drug war for starters. Of course this specific case it doesn't really apply at all if he was brandishing a gun. Probably not the best thread for me to tespond with my comments. Was a spur of the moment thing. But that's it in a nutshell. Get rid of policing the drug war, get rid of property confiscation, get rid of police forces generating revenue on traffic fines. That sort of a thing. Stop arresting people for ticky tack stuff and let more people off with a warning like they did in the old days.

Of course, none of this will happen due to politics and money.

maybe he'd of called up the local reverend, setup a townhall sesh real quick, lit some candles, held hands, and prayed about the situation with Alton.

I'm sure Alton would've gladly handed over his illegal fire arm and pirated CDs, gotten clean, gone to college, got a good job, started paying child support and income taxes, raising his children, and become a great Baby Daddy to all his Baby Mommas.

Im not sure what else he was supposed to do.....he told him to turn around and put his hand on the car and he didnt....was he supposed to keep asking him until he complied or was he justified in using force?

DOJ and AG says he was justified in using force....

We have an out of control police problem, period. Maybe it's more of a problem in black communities. I think so. But maybe not. Problem is we have cops with tactical gear and donated military hardware thinking their soldiers in a way against the people
You can thank BLM and the movement of making police violence a racial concept.

The movement to remove military equipment and decrease that aspect of police forces was gaining traction prior to those racists ruined it.

And I agree this was the right move. Obama's DOJ had the case for 7-8 months and couldn't find a reason to bring charges, Trump's DOJ didn't bring charges, Louisiana AG didn't bring charges yet you have idiots like BR's favorite SJWs and race baiters that think they know more than professionals in this matter.

I'm all for black people policing black people. You could make separate cities where people associate and govern their own...

Wonder how that would go over?

I have an acquaintance who refused to believe that cops shot unarmed white people. I showed her, she still carries on her little protest but stopped discussing it with me.

I'm a little off topic, but while Kip backed our cops, he certainly didn't keep more men on the streets, provide good cars, and build the ranks. We may have had enough Chiefs, but not enough Indians

but were any of those things Kip could actually address without the approval of the metro council? I ask cause, if Kip couldn't actually hire more cops, get them better equipment, etc. then about all he could do is back them up. At least he did that. SWB, not so much so far.
