Anyone else find it funny how at least 2-3 times a month she has another reason for a $500 donation? A few weeks ago was for a weeks worth of Ubers and now this.

What did she need that for?

I was so hoping her weekly mental breakdown last week that was the 2nd worst of her life was her losing custody of her kids.

Her stage props, you mean.

Some BS. Along the lines of needing Uber to get to and from work for a week.

Which if you do the math, I’ll say $30 each way (still pretty high) even at 7 days (14 trips), is still less than $500

There are plenty of high quality ppl that could take their place. People that want to be in BR.

High quality according to the standards of whom? The mayor? The police chief?

Begging for money to pay for Uber to get back and forth from work when you don't have a job

I'm shocked that her staunch black allies didn't want to give her a ride for a week. Shocked, I tell you.

We have an out of control police problem, period.

We have more of an out of control bunch of BLM people who don't care what someone has done, or what they are trying to do while hopped up on drugs, and reaching for a gun. If he's black, it doesn't matter. They would rather a cop be killed than the criminal. It is plain and simple. It can't be said any more clearly. And it's ridiculous.

Navigated everything except the money needed to do it

I went about a year ago to the website that shows requirements to be a BR city LEO. Most in BR would not be qualified. Some don't read well. Some cannot do the PT. Some cannot pass the lie detector.

There are many that would go do the job. They make minimum now and could go to $60-70k with OT. It would be worth it to them but they cannot cut the requirements.

The mass exodus occurring now that it is clear they are not supported from the top will cause the requirements to be overhauled.

but were any of those things Kip could actually address without the approval of the metro council? I ask cause, if Kip couldn't actually hire more cops, get them better equipment, etc. then about all he could do is back them up. At least he did that. SWB, not so much so far

The mayor proposes the budget. He could add cops, he can provide equipment and he can provide pay raises.

The council can not change the budget without a super majority of 8 votes.

Kip could have done all of that and Broome could now.

GMOAT? During Woody Dumas' tenure you could go almost anywhere in the parish and the crime rate was low. Leo's liked their jobs and did not view citizens as ATM's, or enemy combatants.

Kip is the GMOAT this century.

Problem is BR is getting more dangerous.
Middle class is moving out and areas are going down.

Neighborhoods that were decent and had less calls 10 to 15 yrs ago now have a higher rate of calls.

I feel in a way for these guys as far as the workload has gone up while the pay along with staffing the districts has not caught up with the changes in BR.

You have a mayor that is against you, Police Chief that has no clue what he is doing (state police have no experience in being city police different calls), and low morale you will lose the younger officer or officers that can retire. All you will have left is the guys stuck trying to get their retirement.

BRPD is about to become a copy of Dallas PD, Baltimore PD, etc. It’ll be the place young people go and get their training then bolt to decent agencies. This leaves you constantly replacing your academy graduates and the ones that stay are often too shitty to go anywhere else.

If you’re in BR, the place to work is LSP or LSUPD. Both have a lot of money and toys. EBRSO and BRPD have no money, shitty toys, and low morale. Sid supports his guys way more than Murphy, but their equipment at EBRSO is fricking embarrassing.

She is doing whatever possible to destroy the morale and effectiveness of any kind of policing. She does some behind the scenes cutting of a lot of what BR is and is destroying the fragile balance between being a city and chaos.

As far as doing anything good, or productive, she has done nothing but hold a bunch of meetings where the main goal is to drag her fat arse to the trough once again.

Maybe I am wrong here. Can someone list all the accomplishments of her tenure?

After 30 years in this city, I am glad to be getting out before the corpse is completely mutilated.
