Blane being hired/not being hired means nothing. If Blane hadn't taken the shot, Howie or whoever showed up on the scene instead of Blane either would've died or had to take the shot himself. Blane was just an easy scapegoat because of his questionable history and Paul is a wimp who bends the knee to morons who just want to break the law and get away with it.

Define “departments in the area” and their available manpower they can fill.
Keep in mind that BRPD enjoys union protections that sheriff deputies do not get. In fact, Sid fired a bunch of deputies en masse when he got elected because those guys had campaigned for his opponent.
There are positions everywhere but only so many good slots open at, say, Dept of Public Safety, State Police, or some of the better small town departments.

He will never be a cop again.... Why would he take this deal? Was there a monetary component that wasn't discussed? What difference does Fire vs. Resign matter at this point?

That comment ensures not only did they make millions off the GoFundMe, they are getting millions from Louisiana

EBRSO has one who may be available but I think she doesn’t meet SWB and Paul’s qualifications.

Maybe he can hire on with St George. Think that would cause a ruckus?

Because SWB told him to.

To appease SWB, as her top henchman.

Did we all watch the same video? Howie had that shite under control until Blaine showed up and went on a complete power trip
Shhh the boot lickers don’t like facts.

As much fun as that would be, one step at a time.
The election has to pass then the new city has to transition from the appointed officials designated by someone (SWB or JBE) to people who know what the frick they are doing and aren’t trying to frick the area.

I can't speak for any BRPD guys, but that union protection doesn't mean shite when you are absolutely miserable going to work every day. I'd have to imagine a somewhat decent work environment will win over working about 10, 15 or 20 years in a department run by someone like Paul. Not to mention that Paul has proven he doesn't give a shite about union rules.

There are tens of thousands of departments. If he wants to work again, he will have an opportunity. I don't see why he'd ever want to wear a uniform again after that shite, though.

Just because you don’t like Paul doesn’t mean his officers don’t. Do you have some kind of inside info on BRPD or are you just speaking out your arse? Supposedly there’s departments hiring all around so if it’s that bad then why wouldn’t they go work for another department?
Fact is, you don’t know shite.

Depends on how close you are to retirement and how you are handling things.
They haven’t been getting a lot of new officers for a while now so the real questions are how bad things have to get for the more experienced officers and what potential landing spots they have that make them consider jumping.
They already have manpower issues due to recruitment trouble.
Pissing off guys to where ones who can retire do along with a bunch of their younger veteran officers jumping to other departments could put them up shite creek.
But it depends on how badly the rank and file get pissed off and how attractive their alternatives are should they bolt.

you are. There's an agenda in this country that wants to target young white men and make them seen as inferior, untrustworthy, and unsure of themselves in any given situation, and if you have a young adult son who falls in this category then you had better be doing your best to keep that awareness in the forefront of his mind every day.
