Except it wouldnt go down like that. If an officer were hit, he most likely would try to pull out his weapon and defend himself, or worse cause a huge pileup where either the officer or other drivers are killed. Then when court time rolls around the original driver is charged with killing a police officer along with everyone else.

The liklihood of the original officer being blamed for this is negligible.

Yeah, who would be dumb enough to actually slow down and pull over?

Ah the go-to response whenever police do anything. I guess we should have 100% of the police force investigating homicides and just let everything else slide.

Doing 80 mph on an interstate should not be a crime. Swerving your car after a few cold ones needs to be stopped.

This thread begs the question why are you going eastbound in the morning? You got a job baw... downtown is the other way.

Yes, they're right around the curve on I-12 coming over Jefferson towards Airline. They parked their motorcycles against the dividing wall and are running handheld radar then walking onto the interstate to hold up their hand and have someone pull over.

I saw a cop do this right past the drusilla overpass on 12 E about 4 years ago.

He stepped out and told the woman in front of me to stop while she was doing at least 70mph. She immediately slammed on brakes and caused me to swerve into the right lane.

I can't understand why they think its a good idea to do this

Maybe you missed our thread Monday with all the data from OPENDATA BR. The average citizen now has all the BRPD data we need to prove and quantify some disturbing trends.

I posted this on Monday. Tell me again where BRPD is focusing its efforts. Because this quick query I posted Monday shows OTHER and NARCOTICS arrests/citations in the last 7 yrs are CLEARLY Focused on LSU students/Tigerland.
Can you say "Low-risk/high-reward encounter" with the class?

Bob Petit should ask BR to move his street.

Lucky for me, the only time I'm on that stretch of I12 is heading home after work. I usually max about 5 mph coming across that overpass.

I'm hoping they are still there so I can give them a thumbs up for keeping us going the speed limit.

This is the first time I've seen BRPD do any sort of interstate enforcement since before the Sterling shite. They used to be out there regularly, especially at the split.

LSP has also been noticeably absent lately. I can't tell you the last time I saw a trooper.
