Dear BRPD, go to Siegen lane Target parking lot and exit out by the traffic light by iHop. There will be a dude in the grassy median. Arrest him and leave him in jail for awhile.
Thanks
Thanks

They get a few, and the rest scatter. Last time they did this we ended up with one of these "poor souls" set up on the corner of Jones Creek and Coursey.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't SCOTUS rule a few years back all the vagrancy and public loitering laws unconstitutional?

IIRC, It depends on how the law is rewritten.
You can’t write a law in such a way that criminalizes homelessness itself. For example, you can’t have a city ordinance against sleeping outside, or in your car because those are the only places that many homesless people can sleep.
But I don’t think panhandling falls under that category.

My old neighbor was a long ago retired BRPD. He told me that back in the day they would throw them in the back of the patrol car and drive them to West Baton Rouge and drop them off. Port Allen PD finally got wise to it and started bringing them back
The cops in the city I grew up in took one to a bus station and put his arse on a bus bound for Salem, Oregon and the next stop the bus would make was in Houston.
I wonder how far he made it.

Good to hear. They should do that every couple of weeks.

You kid but they started showing up on Highland exit after I started seeing threads on here.
Need to call the St. George police Department on them. Oh wait

Where were these people sleeping when it was illegal?

Two weeks ago I noticed a guy park his car in serops lot at perkins and walk over to the intersection with a sign.
