Perhaps in a movie. Bruce Lee was an actor and was likely never in a true fight in his entire life.

Sick burn from the Lingmerth look alike.

Maybe learn how to lift weights, or play golf. You're not athletic enough to do both.

Probably not as long as it takes you being that I'm genetically superior to you in every way.

Had a buddy who did DTP (Kris Gethin's 4 week bulking program), was eating about 4-5k calories/day and gained about 8 lbs of muscle in a month. Got noticeably big. No creatine. Think he was only taking protein, BCAAs, and a TON of food. Dude was constantly eating

I just started my second week of Kris' program but I am not following the food portion. The workouts are really tough though and I am consistently sore. I can't imagine eating every 2 hours! How anyone has time for that type of dedication with a full time job is beyond me.

Most people don't understand how much food must be consumed to get really large especially if you are young and an ectomorph. I would advise you not to worry about fat and eat everything you can get your hands on. The best thing to pack on pounds is to consume one gallon of whole milk every day as it is liquid, full of protein and calories, and easy to consume. Most supplements are garbage and unnecessary. I have been in the iron game for many decades and I have yet to see a person able to put on muscle without putting on fat.

It can be done, but you can do it much faster by going through a bulking phase.

The strongest I've ever gotten was about 6 or so years ago. I was in the gym lifting heavy about 5 to 6 days a week, and eating any and everything. I went up the amount I was able lift literally every week. But, I wasn't ripped due to the "poor" diet.

eta: But I was strong like a m'fer.

I have never seen it unless you are talking about 1 or 2 pound gains over an extraodinary time line.

The more you weight the more you will lift and those calories are also needed for recovery when you are on a strength program. I haven't lifted more than 3 days a week in many years and when I am not injured my lifts go up although it takes much longer than it did when I was young as I have not been able to employ linear progression programs in a very long time.

I tend to agree with you that the Bulk and cut is really the best way to go about it, but I'm a short guy and don't like eating that much food at this point. I can put on some decent muscle and keep my weight roughly the same but I also mix in a couple of cardio workouts during the week.

its been many years since I seriously lifted so I'm starting from far enough back where I'm making linear progression increases at this point and probably will be able to for several weeks using the 5x5. I lift three days a week and do cardio and some assistance stuff

Been around a little while myself. There are really 2 approaches to the getting swole equation, gear or no gear. Both involve food and really lots of it to get really large. One just makes it a little easier. My normal routine is bulk during the winter and max strength gains and start leaning after the Super Bowl to get to my target weight that I like to maintain over the Spring/Summer to do BJJ tournaments.
