It's not bad from the different angle. It's unique.

Are they sure that’s Coretta or one of MLK‘s many white mistresses?

Wonder if MLK and JFK ran trains on interns

Other angles aren't so phallic but they would have been better off just making a realistic full size statue of the actual embrace than this mass of arms shite.

I know art shouldn't always be so literal but when you're trying to honor a historical figure or event you probably should be able to easily recognize WTF it is.

That’s a funny angle in that photo, but the sculpture itself isn’t bad. I saw they did a dedication for it today and had some of MLK’s descendants in attendance.

I've looked at this sculpture from multiple angles now, and they're all bad.

You'd think someone would have positioned the live news feeds at the "best" angle though.

From the twitter replies the only people who like it are white women.

I'm going to have to disagree. It's very similar to this MLK statue in New Orleans. If you drive past this you will have no idea who it honors, what it represents, and you're left not being moved by it to consider what was achieved and what may be needed going forward. It fails. Just like these arms.
