Wtf will help ease the pain and how long of a recovery for you? Anything special I can do to speed up healing

Try not to cough, laugh, or sneeze for a month. Sleep on your back
It sucks. Sorry

Just get it removed so you can blow yourself like MM

Not much will ease the pain and you will feel it for 10-12 weeks...maybe longer.
Try not to do it in the future.

Excellent suggestion btw but quite impossible at this stage even though I know where there is a will there is a way!

Complain about the NFL as much as possible. That will make you feel better.

After I broke my ribs in a car wreck I developed a lung infection from not being able to breathe deeply. It caused me to cough which wildly intensified the pain. Probably doesn't help but that's all I got on the subject.

Are you sure it's not fibromyalgia?

Everything will hurt.
Don't watch anything funny.
Don't breathe deeply.

Fell down flight of stairs and landed on my ribs with wooden steps cushioning the fall.

Is a cross country flight out of the question or manageable?

Broken ribs suck bro.... besides broken tailbone, I'm having a hard time remembering any other broken bones I hated worse.
#GodSpeed.
Be careful and don't injure it any further or puncture a lung or something.
You sure they are broken via X-ray or they just 'feel' broken? Because bruised ribs are brutal as well.

Heroin will help with the pain and some cocaine will keep you going throughout the day. Have fun.
Seriously though, there's not much you can do for a broken rib. The pain will continue to suck for a couple of months. When you sneeze, it will have the potential to make a tear roll down your cheek. When I had a couple of broken ribs, I dreaded having to sneeze. I would always try to prevent it, if it didn't just sneak up on me.
Hopefully, for you, you don't have a job with physical labor, if so, you may need to take a little time off. I didn't make out too bad as I was able to stay in my office and frick off while it healed for a few weeks. If you can manage the pain with Tylenol or something, do that, if not, maybe try to see a doctor about some better meds.
Good luck, broken ribs suck donkey dicks. Hope you can find a way to help you not suffer so much and hope you have a speedy recovery.
