Wallpaper is great in other's houses. I gets old, discolored and really old stuff is difficult to remove, even with a removal steamer.

Its hard to remove but it is a royal pain in the arse to hang. When I was a younger man I made some pretty good side money hanging wallpaper. Most homeowners think it is simple until they do it for a few hours then they start hunting someone to finish it up for them. I would hang it for what it cost...if the roll cost $5 I'd hang it for $5. Depending on the pattern and the wall height etc. I could make a couple of hundred bucks cash in 6 or so hours for normal wall coverings and vynil and grass cloth, which were expensive as hell, I could make $500 bucks. It was a good side hustle. Its a pain in the arse though...you have to get almost in a trance to do it and make money doing it.

I don't even know if you can still buy it....home centers and even KMart had an entire section devoted to it at one time and places like Sherwin Williams made a FORTUNE selling it...it wasn't cheap unless you hung garbage.

believe me wallpaper has indeed made a huge comeback this year with decorators and social media influencers. Doubt you or the typical TD poster is following all the decorating blogs and posts but, it definitely is on trend and has back in so you get your wish.

You don't have the coziness with open floor plans. There needs to be many walls.

Agreed. It's aggravating trying to carry on a conversation with an individual when you have over a dozen people gathered in a 40'x60' open area in the kitchen/breakfast/family room with a big arse TV & surround sound. Add a few kids, couple of dogs and it gets to be a circus.

One thing I remember about the 90s is that every house seemed to be dark AF inside.
because the popular colors were hunter green, burgundy, and navy.

You do know it’s back right. Been a thing for a while now. Rooms with wallpaper and accent walls.

Big echo boxes. Especially if it has a column in the living room.

Prodigious suggestion my dear fellow! I’ll assign this project to my interior decorators to spruce up my new day study.

Screw that. I just spent a weekend removing that 90's wallpaper and it was a pain in the arse.

You are lucky if it just comes off. You are in for a real treat when it starts ripping the drywall apart. Then you get to re-mud half the wall before you paint!!

Interior design has gotten light years better than the 90s.

Exterior design/architecture has gotten worse.

We’re lucky to have a 60s house, remodeled and opened up on the inside.

Kevin cut and decorated the tree. Give the little brat some credit.

I absolutely despise open floor plan. I get the appeal, but it ain’t for me.

The main thing I hate about it is how loud it can be. An open floor plan with all hardwood and tile makes a dog bark sound like they're barking into a megaphone. That shite bounces off everything. Get two or three pups going at once and you want to start killing things.

Wallpaper is actually very in style right now and has been the past 5 or so years.

It’s just popular in bathrooms and closets. Not entire house.

I have it in my bathroom.

Same.

When it comes to wallpaper, you get what you pay for in product and installation. If done correctly, wallpaper is much more easily removed than it used to be, assuming you don’t go cheap. I like bold but timeless patterns in small rooms like powder baths and master bath toilet closet.

Get a steamer and clean the glue residue as you go.
