LADOT just said they are very concerned the interstate system could be shut down for a couple of weeks if not longer due to scouring underneath the bridges or at the foundation of the bridges. They are worried about structural soundness now. Did t sound good

That's just real bad. That would be lockdown . I wonder how the 190 bridge will hold up. It's not that old.

They were always worried about that.

Hell, there was probably a pre-existing condition that they could never fix because some jackass local politician and traffic engineer didn't want to frick up constituents commutes.

Now they have a reason that can't be overturned to do necessary repairs.

I'm guessing around where it meets I-12
They act like I-10 is exclusive to Louisiana when it runs from Cali to Florida

I'm thinking that bridge over bayou Manchac may have some issues considering that it's under a few feet of water right now

I would think Louisiana folks would enjoy this for a couple of weeks. All of the thru traffic would be re-routed up to I-20. You guys down there will have I-10 all to yourselves.

This could be a pretty big deal and what I was concerned about, long term damage to major infrastructure that could take months/years to fix

Only good thing is that the federal blank check would probably cover it. Like twin spans after Katrina.

If it is a structural issue they wont allow local traffic either. Too much liability. That means all local traffic is routed to side streets. This means gridlock.

Gridlock on interstate, gridlock on local streets.

What's the difference

I heard on the radio that they are recommending all baws remove the truck nuts from their vehicles to reduce weight and strain on the roads.
