More proof that you have the slightest fricking clue how things work
The Port and their contractors are the greatest employees and managers ever. They shall never be questioned. All shall bow down to their superior project management skills. All us little taxpayers just need to understand that, because LNCHBOX said so.
Despite other entities across the country being able to do work without these issues, these entities should send their employees and contractors down to NOLA to learn how it should be done.
When I am sitting in horrific traffic tonight, I shall often give thanks that people like LNCHBOX are looking our for our best interests, and how lucky our area is to have such great engineers and workers.

I don't know what they "planned" as all announcements have called for three days.
If they were working from sunup to sundown on Sat and Sun, and needed more time, and said working at night on this type of issue was a safety issue, then I would completely understand and have never started this thread.
They assume most people have some common sense and don't need everything spoon fed to them.
Yes, they planned for 3 days because the scope of work couldn't be done in 2 days.

Your own damn fault since you are too ignorant to get out of the traffic.

Sweet melt. It would be easier for you to just acknowledge you don't know everything about this. Or if you're as knowledgeable as your condescending melt implies, why not make some money and run this stuff yourself? It's obviously so easy.

What's your commute tonight?
I already told you, of the other routs available, one is flooded, one is backed up like crazy, and one is way out out the way, and also backed up like crazy.

Almost as if it's a Friday afternoon. You sound like the same kind of dummy that moves next to rail crossings and then bitches about getting stuck by trains.

Must suck to be a time puncher. I would've just worked from home.
Hell, I did anyway so I could watch golf.

Came to office to meet with a client.
20 min after I got here, they called and rescheduled
Could have just gone back home, but it's hard to work with kids running around the house. You will learn.

what i don't get is why you keep asking questions if you already have all the answers.
also you just called traffic across a 4 lane bridge into the fricking lower 9th ward "horrific." is it backed up from the bridge to like Press? maybe even elysian fields? the horror.
stop being such a pussy.

Dude. Quit making sense. You'll confuse the lot of em.

OP, I’d be more worried about the trashy lower 9 or “da Parish” that you live in rather than a little traffic. Why don’t you get a better job and move somewhere nice.

Awesome O-T response.
Low crime, great schools... yeah super trashy.

I went through the 'flooded' route along with a long line of other cars. Your Miata probably would have made it.
You could have taken the Ferry as well.
So many options other than waiting in traffic.

This afternoon the wait was one light cycle at Poland and a couple light cycles across the bridge.
Florida Avenue was steady flowing
The amount of standing water was laughable.

As if OP could look any worse in this

I am always amazed with the people willing to wait in line on Claiborne rather than going another way or just bypassing the wait and going to the front of the line at the last redlight.
Leaving Da Parish looked pretty bad, but it wasn't even backed up to Tupelo.
Or just stop for a beer or food and wait until St Claude opens at 6 or so.
