I'm agreeing with LNCHBOX, that should indicate how ridiculous your take is.

No, I just don't think you have any idea what you are talking about, and are talking out of your arse.

I'm sure they didn't just try to screw up for fun. I'm also sure - and you are proving this - that they are just lazy.

You took 3 days of marine closures and want them to happen within 28 hours. Did you mean something different?

Math must not be your strong suit.

3 days of closures = 72 hours. That's not happening here.

This level of stupidity isn't even worth engaging anymore

Again, talking out of your arse with no facts or information to back it up. Typical LA contractor.

quote:

Guess you missed the last big project on the the very bridge you're talking about where they worked 10 days straight to minimize the closure.

You mean the one where the bridge was actually broken? And the bridge was closed for 10 days straight. They sure AF weren't working 10 days for 24 hours straight. I know, I drove past several times at night to see.

Don't you not even live here?

Why do you care so much?

You, of all people, complain about tons of stuff. With 100 percent certainty, we know if you were inconvenienced by this, you would be losing your shite.

There it is, ladies and gentlemen.

I thought you were a Republican.

It's the Democrats that default to using statements like that, when they have been defeated with facts.

Road and bridge work that is done with an eye on reducing traffic problems, including 24 hour / overnight work when necessary.

The fact that the bridge is closed more hours on a weekday, vs a weekend, would not fly anywhere else.

See the post earlier in this thread about Atlanta.

Totally relevant, great point.

I don't.

Not if it was a legitimate action. They were cutting a tree down on my street at 6AM last week. I'd rather the tree be cut down than fall on my ride so I have no reason to complain.

Sorry the bridge will be closed a couple days and you'll be a bit inconvenienced on the way to stuff your gullet full of donuts.

it's a 2 lane bridge from fricking 1919. there isn't that much fricking traffic going over that bridge. you're acting like they're shutting down the CCC or Twin Span.

if you're gonna be pissed, be pissed that you have to drive on a 100 year old bridge.

What? It's the 50th biggest city in the US and isn't a major hub of really anything.

I have no idea what my alleged political affiliation has to do with any of that.

Yeah, a tree being cut down = a major road closure during AM and PM rush hour.

Sorry the bridge will be closed a couple days

If it was closed for "a couple of days" that would be fine. As those days should be Saturday and Sunday. It's the Friday that is the problem.

You don't know why it's closed for more hours on a week day.

Also, NOLA is a service industry town.

Weekends are higher traffic in a town like that.

Friday is less inconvient for most than Saturday and Sunday are.

4 lane

Enough to cause a close to 3 mile backup on the alternate route

Sure, we want a replacement, but our politicans are afraid of offending a few poor blacks in the 9th ward, so we can't have nice things.

If you being emotional and ignorant and my pointing it out is being a dick then sure.

I never compared the two.

2 lanes each way, my apologies. i grew up in bywater so i know how much of a pain in the arse the bridge is.

also, if someone wanted to tear down your house for a fricking lock you'd prolly raise hell too.

OK.

Traffic during rush hour from St. Bernard into the city is much much higher than any time on the weekend.

Source - anyone who drives that route

There are no tourists and few service industry employees making that drive at any time.
