You know in all reality, the bride probably didn't care about his uni, but rather his behavior. He might have been playing it up a little and THAT was grabbing the limelight. But she couldn't really say that, so she went with what was least spoiled sounding.

You have to wear medals and/or ribbons on any dress uniform. Those arent optional.

Yes I know, which is why I said in the original post you responded to me, “you can’t not wear medals or ribbons on your blue dress”

It wouldn't be a debate though, women already know who the a-hole is in that situation. Those bitches would throw down for the bride. Then the debate would be about if bros had good excuses for not videoing the chick fight.

I said a growing trend. Most of the country still respects the military but it’s trending down.

You're kind of being disingenuous considering what you actually stated was "the military has been shunned since Vietnam".

It never was egregious. The bride is a bitch.

My point has always been it's on the limit of what is expected at a civilian affair, so it's common courtesy to inquire with the host about it.

Its cause this probably didn't happen and she / they most likely don't exist.

Black tie optional usually still requires woman to wear cocktail dresses.

One thing I know is that people who wear their accomplishments on their sleeves for all to see, tend to be the most insecure.

Right, my cousin who recently retired as a 1stSgt is the last person that would attempt to do something to bring attention to himself. He won't even talk about his service unless directly asked.

yeah, kind of a slow morning here but I don't think there's much to see here and I wonder if this is even a true story, I would think at a large wedding that the newlyweds would be so preoccupied with the occasion and being congratulated and greeting people, etc., that they wouldn't even notice something like this, but if the bride was such a bitch as to boot someone from the reception for wearing a uniform and taking a few pics, if I'm the groom I'm asking for an annulment on the spot

OR, she could have been specific in her demands and not left it optional.

I don't know much at all about women's fashion and it sounds like you might, can a cocktail dress not be low cut?

It can be

quote:

If you receive an invite with the term “black tie optional” know that it mostly applies to men who may or may not own or want to wear a tuxedo. For women, it means you have the option of wearing a full-length gown, or opting for a cocktail dress, so long as the hemline isn't too short or the style isn't too revealing.

Fair enough. A typo on my part.

Meant to say “has been more shamed”.
