The old owners took an inventory the night of the transition and estimated that $100-125K of Brian’s sets were still in the store and marked with stickers.

They have photographic evidence of this.

The new owners, who were corporate employees, had the option of returning the sets or selling them and paying out the agreed percentages. They took a third option and claimed they knew nothing of the agreement and that all stock in the store at the time of transition was theirs.

Mansell, original owner signed a consignment agreement with one of their franchise doors that specifically laid out he is still the owner until an item is sold.

Franchise owners want to sell the franchise and call corporate. Corporate steps in the next day and takes over the store.

Then starts giving the original owner all kinds of run around about getting his stuff back. They literally just converted his inventory to theirs.

can i get some cliffnotes on how it was "stolen"?

Items put on consignment with franchise store.

Everything proceeds fine for over a year, with checks cut monthly for what was sold

Corporate invokes a takeover of the franchise store

Corporate stops paying owner of consigned Legos based on sales and refuses to return unsold merchandise despite contract stating items still below to consigner.

Corporate basically tells the consigner “you have to sue us to get it and we will make it prohibitively expensive to do this to where you lose money on the deal.”

Ben commentary on police footage leak

Pretty much confirms what we all knew, the cops, Ammon and Josh are all friends and just working together to do whatever they wanted and figuring out how to arrest Ben.

No wonder they wanted it redacted

BAM has announced that Josh and Brandon have resigned.

They are still trying to claim that the consignment was against the rules and a personal agreement by the previous franchisee.

That's interesting, and not surprising. They intend to lay the entirety of the blame on the original owner and now want to settle up with the family. They've parted ways with the current "owners", and you know they have to be worried about what else Ben (the YouTuber) has them on video/recording saying.

I wouldn't doubt that there was probably some shady shite going on with the original owners. It is just that the new "owners" and corporate have admitted knowing that the collection belonged to the family.

They could have just given the remainder of the inventory/collection back and avoided this shitshow, but that apparently didn't fit in with the scheme they have going.

All's well that ends well.

I guess that puts a kibosh on Ben's saga.

And it looks like the BaM CEO is going to skate.

Considering what was in the leaked badge cams from yesterday, I figure Ben has a lot of ammo to go after everyone involved, including the CEO and American Fork PD.

Ben does not seem like the litigious type.

The whole thing from the beginning was a civil lawsuit waiting to be filed: breach of contract, fraud, conversion, etc.

Ben did not want to litigate anything until he had the opportunity to litigate in smalls claims. Even then, he didn't really litigate the issues; he won on default.

Unfortunately, I doubt it. There's no mention about dropping the lawsuit. Only about removing the original owner of the legos from the lawsuit if they can come to some agreement.

They still seem intent on going after the original franchise owners and Ben, et al.

The whole point of settling the Mansell claims is to put this thing to bed and get out of the headlines.

Continuing the litigation against Ben and the original franchisee would negate that goal.

I'd assume BaM intends to drop that litigation upon receiving non-disparagement clauses from the Defendants.
