There's a reason for this (and it's not "bad owners"...it's genetics):

many homeowners insurance policies do not cover pit bulls (including American Pit Bull Terriers and Staffordshire Terriers) due to their classification as high-risk or aggressive breeds. Insurers may deny coverage, exclude pet liability, or charge higher premiums, though some companies use breed-neutral policies based on individual dog behavior rather than breed.

I am >60. For my entire childhood and adult life, my immediate family were hobby breeders from before I was born, never more than 3-4 adult dogs in the house at any time. We handled everything from Afghan Hounds to Shar Peis and Schipperkes over those decades. In EVERY single case, with EVERY breed, you eventually saw their genetics manifest in some way.

The only two breeds we would never have anything to do with, even the family member who had game roosters 50 years ago, were Pit Bulls and Chows. The latter can't do as much damage, but you cannot trust either breed, period.

That is the collective experience of nearly two man-centuries of dog handling and breeding. Do with it what you will.

Really sorry about your mom OP. I carry now on dog walks, both mace and 9 mm, I am too old to run or fight any more.

12 years ago my young daughter (at the time) was mauled by my next door neighbors dog. We are fortunate that she is still with us.

both the physical and emotional trauma she endured that day and beyond I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

I hope that your mother is able to recover both physically and mentally from this attack

wtf are you talking about? You said she was violently attacked. I asked are there nonviolent attacks? Stop being dramatic and just answer the question, please.

You didn’t ask a real question; you nitpicked wording to dodge the point. Violent vs. nonviolent isn’t the debate, and you know it.

If that’s your entire contribution, you’re not correcting anything, you’re just deflecting. Now get out of my notifications.

So, there’s not and you know you were being a sensationalist drama queen. So, if that’s your entire contribution to this thread, then you can stop posting dumb shite and you won’t hear shite from me.

I don’t think anyone was ever attacked in a tickle fight. The whole point of an attack is to cause injury. It’s literally in the definition of the word.

You’re confusing “pointing out reality” with “being dramatic.” That’s not my problem, that’s your reading comprehension.

You’re still hung up on semantics because you don’t have an actual argument. Pitbulls statistically are very dangerous animals as pets. But, if your big win here is policing wording while ignoring the point, congrats, you’ve contributed absolutely nothing. Which is on par for you.

I think all the regulars in this thread know my stance on killing pit bulls and I’ve stated my points in various threads. I just come here to laugh at the stupid shite people say. You usually provide. I appreciate you.

Translation: you’ve got recycled takes, no new argument, and just show up to heckle like it’s a hobby. Basically, you’re just background noise.

Probably why I don’t even recognize your screen name. Appreciate the free rent, though. Bye.

What I did was not share an old take and you said basically the same thing everyone else said, so I think you’re delusional in addition to being dramatic. But ok, I just thought you were dumb for saying someone was violently attacked when the whole reason the word is attack is because it’s violent. Like saying someone who can’t talk is silently a mute. Just dumb.

I'll keep this short then: your opinion is irrelevant to me, background noise. you chose to play semantics, instead of just saying, "I agree with you". Have a good Friday, bud.
