I think when discussing dog bites, fatalities are always relevant.
I remember(after 2 pits went after me) in March/April 2013 we had this discussing on here about this. There were 15/18 deaths at the time and ALL were via this breed. When the year ended 78% of fatalities were by Pitbulls.
There are some sweet ones no doubt and everyone loves theirs but there is also a problem here.

Yes if this was a fatality the overwhelming statstics point to a pit bull
But a dog bite causing injuries the overwhelming stats say it’s more likely than not a pit bull
In saying that, if you had to guess one individual breed, pit bull would still be the betting favorite according to stats
Same as in sports. One man maybe the clear favorite, but taking the field still has far better odds

I've been bitten by my fair share of dogs and only one was over 15 pounds. wasn't a pit either.
lil dogs love to bite. thing is, when they do, you just laugh it off. Pit bites you, not such a laughing matter.

Pit bulls and Rottweilers are 76% of all fatal attacks. This wasn’t fatal, but it was bad enough to keep a professional athlete from competing. It wasn’t a chihuahua.

You’re joking, right? I have a golden doodle. My sister has a golden doodle. My cousins have had a ton of poodles (toy and standards… the toys are the ones that bite) over the last 30 years. There have been no injury-worthy bites in my family, ever. Not once. The literal most is if they nip you in the heel or on the hand and you say “ouch.”
Poodles were bred to have soft mouth for carrying prey (labs, Goldens, etc). Some are better at it than others, but poodles are really low risk to bite.
The little ones are more likely to bite you and even then they *might* nip you in the heel.
