My dad served in two wars and I never once heard him tell anyone that he was a veteran. Playing that card because you received shitty service at an interstate highway Taco Bell just seems like a devaluation of the honor.

Props to your pops. Some veterans are way to entitled these days and the general public has gone overboard in the veteran worship.

The gi bill is an increadible benefit that is under utilized and way better than 10% off a 10$ purchase. Be productive and use your military experience to benefit society instead of harping on some recognition.

Sounds like they did not want to serve him because he was being a jerk and a jackass, not because he was a cop or veteran . I guarantee that if he says this is what happened he is grossly under exaggerating how much of an arse he really was.

There is always two sides of the story. The owner of the Taco Bell probably didn't care what actually happened, he just didn't want people posting on social media that his store does not serve veterans.

With that said, his order was taken, the girl went get his drink and then a male employee approached him saying they were not going to serve him. Just because he had a hate on that said veterans doesn't mean he is actually a veteran and how are they suppose to know he was a police.. Unless he had a shirt on that said "I use to be a police bitches".

It just seems like something happened if the male employee approached him, while the girl was getting his drink to tell him they were not going to serve him. Why would the male employee waste his time going up to someone to say "we not serving you". It was never said that they were not serving because he was a veteran.

We're getting this dude's side of the story, and even his recounting of the events makes him come off looking douchey. Considering you can probably find the truth somewhere in the comments of both sides, I suspect he probably had it coming.

ETA: terrible service can be infuriating. Most people wouldn't get into verbal sparring matches with the employees though. It's part of the fast food experience in Louisiana unfortunately. For instance, go to Dallas burbs and see the difference. It's night and day.

Doesn't mean they weren't working and we should deflect from the fact, according to this article, that he was being an arse.

I am not arguing whether they should or should not have served him but the FACT is someone should have been up front to greet the customer. Someone was NOT doing their job. If that had happened then the whole situation doesn't happen.

This wasn't really a situation of someone not really doing their job. His order was taken, the girl went to get his drink. The employee who approached the customer had to take time to come from the back and engage with the customer. When someone works at a fast food restaurant, if they are one of the people preparing orders, do they usually know whose order they are preparing?

Unless someone is looking for a reason to get fired, why would they just up & decide to refuse service to a veteran.

Veteran or not a veteran, he was being served until the asshat from the back gave him the bad{or good
news for his health)news that he wasn't to be served. Did I
miss another interaction, not sure.

Meh sounds like a dick who just happened to be a cop/veteran. I don't think the no service was cause of his job. It was cause of his attitude

They did not because he was continually abusive. A decision was made to send the dickhead down the road.

Being a cop or veteran had zero to do with it.

They actually did him a favor. He did not have to eat the spit or boogers that are normally put in the food of the abusive fast food customer.
