Holy shite, you guys can't go 5 minutes without arguing like retarded 8 year olds no matter the topic or story. Just wow..

There is nothing to argue here as far as I can see.

Pains me to say this, but tangerine is right. Seems this story is about a mentally ill person being in a job he should not have been in, and others allowing it.

You are right. Police get absolutely no special treatment by the police

I never said that. You said that no civilian gets treated like the cops. You're wrong, as usual, and now deflecting.

Great. Whether it was murder or not, this shite has to stop. The legislature makes laws, they don't enforce them. And when they get this far out front of a case, I think they make a mistrial or the overturning of a verdict way more likely than if they had just expressed concern and kept quiet on what a guy should or should not be charged with .

The South Carolina cop just plead down, but he got a mistrial the first time despite video of him shooting a guy in the back and then going up to the body and planting evidence.

Smart move toting an AR-15 when breaking up a high school party.

Bottom line is the cop broke protocol from the start and it went downhill from there. That's why he was fired and that's why he is being charged with murder.

This quote is why cops continue to kill people without any fear of repercussion. They know at least one person on any jury will think exactly like this and acquit a cop regardless of his or her actions.

Why did he arm himself with an AR-15 to begin with? He was busting up an underage drinking party, not patrolling Sadr City.

Doesn't matter.

Like said above: someone will find a way to blame the deceased.

This is stupid and a PC move. Charge him with manslaughter not murder.

The police chief did not back this officer at all. Pretty clear he screwed up big time.

I get that he's fired now, but the headlines on this in places are confusing- "Ex-cop charged with murder" he was on duty when he allegedly committed a crime right?

OTOH- the speed with which he was shitcanned makes me think he's guilty-- this is almost exactly what happened to the SC cop when the tape surfaced. So good on the Police Department in question.

Yeh I believe he was fired on Tuesday. The officer claimed the car was backing up on him and he feared being run over but the chief came put a few days later and said that wasn't the case and that he fired into a car leaving the scene.

I'm would think he will try to plead down to manslaughter especially since his own department fired him for his actions. Prison won't be good to him and I'm guessing they will segregate him from general population...I think policemen and molestors should be thrown to the wolves.

Same. I despise the practice of putting them in secure units. If anyone deserves the full gen pop experience, it's them.

Yeh I don't get why they get protected. should put them in different color jumpsuits to make sure all the other prisoners know who to rape and kill

Every time one of these stories I want to be all eff the police. Then it turns out the person shot was a scumbag (regardless of any race.)

There doesn't seem to be any defense of the cop here.

Go protest a 15 YO kid getting shot in a car, not a shithead who tried to draw a gun on police.
