Reading between the lines sounds like a traffic or drug stop gone bad. Trooper shot, bystanders shot and one accomplice fled in a USPS truck. 20 injured during shooting but did not say 20 shot. Trampling, car wrecks, etc as people flee although it does sound like several others were hit with gunfire.

Just left the mall in Midland. I stayed in the truck and it was packed when we got there about 30 mins ago. Within about 5 mins the place was empty. Not sure if they evacuated or just word got around and everyone left

In fairness if they’re driving around that’s much different than going into a crowd and making yourself a target. Not very easy to pick out who’s shooting if you’re shot while you’re driving.
I’m not debating gun control or not, I’m simply stating there’s a big difference in being able to defend yourself in one situation vs the other.
