If those were the ONLY two possible scenarios then I would say the latter would be more likely just based on life experience. But I do find it a bit hard to believe the black girls expressly told the white girl they were beating her up because "she was the smallest white girl in the bar". Perhaps that may have been their intent (who knows?), but I doubt they expressly told her that. "Excuse us ma'am. We were looking to beat up the smallest white girl we could find tonight and, unfortunately, you are it. Sorry. Now prepare for your arse-kicking"

What likely happen was drunk women got into some kind of verbal spat outside, it could have been over the Anthony verdict, that then turned into a physical fight. That's how 99% of bar/bar parking lot fights start. Someone starts drunkenly mouthing off about something that eventually leads to a fight.

If my intuition is wrong, then so be it. But there are often 3 sides to every story. I suspect when it all shakes out we will find the white girl wasn't just quietly walking to her car when she was suddenly beaten up by complete strangers for no reason whatsoever. There was likely some verbal back and forth before things escalated

yeah, I agree. I phrased that question in a binary manner to give him the opportunity to expand (which he did). But you’re correct, it’s highly unlikely it was as simple as I phrased it.
