About five days from now, inspection stickers will no longer be required in Mississippi...I can't wait to scrape that shite off for the last time...

A Jackson will make it all go away. It used to only take a Lincoln.

they don't really put too much effort into traffic laws here...

every time I go back to LA, I have to be really careful to watch my speed through the many speed traps...have seen precious few policemen clocking since I have been here...

It's the new regulations. They have to drive it. If they get caught not driving them they can get fined or even shut down

Despite our inspection requirement, I see cars with non-working taillights or brakelights almost every day.

We need to develop a universal horn beep sequence to alert the person ahead of us that they have a light out.

The last time I went to get a BRAKE TAG the dude drove my truck to the super market across the NEUTRAL GROUND and went in to MAKE GROCERIES.

Did he ever get down from the car?

Never had this happen to me. Always checked lights, horn, gas cap, emissions then I'm on my way. Never drove my vehicle.

I once drove 2 years without Brake Tag, Driving License, and License Plate on my truck. I was working a project and working on nights. Finally I got up enough nerve to go to the Courthouse and the lady looked at all my stuff and said "you know you did not have to rush in here to get this done" We were all laughing and I paid all the fees and then went straight to get a new Brake Tag. I felt good driving down the road with new Driving License, License Plate, and Brake Tag. I wanted to volunteer to get stopped so I could show them off!

I worked at a Exxon gas station in my teens that did inspection stickers. We only drove the vehicles unless they were cool. Man...

I understand you though. Guy here in town has his helper take the old sticker off while he writes up the new one. As long as you can pull up to the station, you pass inspection.

Well, it's called a brake tag not a light tag
And FWIW I got my new INSPECTION STICKER on Tuesday and they didn't drive my truck.

It was always my understanding that they were supposed to drive your vehicle, thats why you couldnt get a inspection when the roads were wet. I have never had one request to drive it though.
You can get a 2 year in LA now.
They are actually supposed to check the air and tread in each tire also. Never had it happen to me, but a buddy in HS failed inspection for not enough tread on this tires.

The guy I go to has a spray painted piece of plywood that says "Rain or Shine."

That one little period that you were supposed to get boat trailers inspected, I got my sticker and didn't even bring the boat and trailer to him. This dude gives zero fricks and is directly across the street from the police station.

Not entirely true. You can get a 2 year everywhere but the greater Baton Rouge area because of the ozone bullshite.
Unless this has changed in the last 6 months when I got my last one.
