Brag: My 24 y/o son just started the adventure of a lifetime. #GoogleMaps #geoguessr

This time last year my son was living in L.A. working a dream job for a company called Wave Sports + Entertainment. He was 23, Lead Creator for their Snapchat content, making obscene money. We played geoguessr (a game where you’re dropped somewhere in the world on Google street maps, then you guess where you are) when he was in HS and we picked it up again as a way to stay in touch each day.

He got good. Real good. Really, really good. In his spare time, he started a TikTok account where he would post his better games and tips for new players. It took off.

Long story short: He passed 1 mln followers earlier this year. Then he started a YT channel, Snap, Twitter and Instagram accounts. He quit his job last month, signed with an agency and is now making disgusting money.

Now this. He’s traveling to a different country each month. Germany in November. Laos in December. He’s not sure for January, leaning Portugal and Spain.

He’s not your typical ‘influencer’. He’s spent COUNTLESS hours mastering his craft and probably knows more geography than all but a handful of people in the world. Seriously. In the last six months, he’s been interviewed and had stories in The New York Times, Washington Post, NPR, National Geographic and VICE just to name a few. He’s smart, kind, humble and generous. And a HUGE Hog fan! And I’m busting as his dad. Proud, thrilled and a little terrified.

You may think it’s silly or nerdy, but it’s surprising how fascinating and hypnotic it is to watch him. He’s also started organizing and broadcasting tournaments. His large, devoted fan base is still growing strong.
