Sure beats being homeless though.

Someone should send them a copy of the Louisiana New Home Warranty. You basically don't have shite covered after 2 years unless it's major structural issues and that is only covered for 5 years.
quote:
§3144. Warranties; exclusions
A. Subject to the exclusions provided in Subsection B of this Section, every builder warrants the following to the owner:
(1) One year following the warranty commencement date, the home will be free from any defect due to noncompliance with the building standards or due to other defects in materials or workmanship not regulated by building standards.
(2) Two years following the warranty commencement date, the plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling, and ventilating systems exclusive of any appliance, fixture, and equipment will be free from any defect due to noncompliance with the building standards or due to other defects in materials or workmanship not regulated by building standards.
(3) Five years following the warranty commencement date, the home will be free from major structural defects due to noncompliance with the building standards or due to other defects in materials or workmanship not regulated by building standards.

I was going to say, maybe we shouldn't assume what all of the issues are and when they started showing up.

So 11 year old homes shouldn't need maintenance or upkeep?
Exactly why so many of the donation houses fail (this situation and habitat for humanity). These people have come from generations of renting. I feel like taking care of my house is in my dna. I helped mow my grandparents yard and my parents and now I take care of my yard and house.

Our house is 15 and I have to fix shite every month (or it seems).
Frick these ungrateful turds
What about the fact that you were able to live in a free house for 10 years

Black people are hard on housing.

maybe we should also not assume anyone, i mean a single fricking person, has any sympathy for these people who won't help themselves.

Working with a building material supplier I was involved in bidding on the framing materials used for these homes. All the framing lumber we were bidding included having them sent to a specialty chemical coating supplier that is lifetime warrantied against mold & mildew and like 50 yr insect resistance. I did not win the bid, it went to a larger supplier out of Alabama but I heard they only used it on about half and then stopped to reduce cost.
Be ready for the imminent subpoena.

Correct. He didn’t have to do anything.

That'll teach him for trying to help.

Essentially, Make It Right was making a lot of promises to come back and fix the homes that they initially sold these people and have failed to do so,
That's the point you racist fricks are missing.

I think if they promised (in writing) that they'd take care of specified items for a number of years then they should be held to that. But at the same time, if I'm a home owner and there's issues with the house, I'm not going to just let it fall to shite until the legal system works it out for me. If it even does at all.
