I bike by there regularly at night. There’s no problem unless being near black people and the occasional scent of cheap weed that’s all stems bothers you. I wouldn’t call it dangerous.

It isn't bad. Another place to walk the levee at night is by LSU's campus. Park across from the vet school. I walk my dog up there all the time after dark. Never had any issues and the area has plenty of lighting.

North Foster is interesanté at night.

Don’t automatically redline that area.

If you both live, you could bring her to ghost town. Take in the sites.

The fact is BR isn’t really a place where people just walk around. It’s dead other than certain areas. Just talk at dinner or go to a quiet bar.

Baton Rouge will never have anything nice now. The homeless have arrived in mass. Live Ater Five has maybe two years left. The group homes drop the people off to attend it and many of the police officers who have been there since the beginning have stopped working it.

Wasn’t that long ago that there was some momentum going on with bars and restaurants on 3rd street but that ship has seemed to have sailed. 2006-2013 were good years for downtown and now it’s for all intents and purposes a shell of its former self.

It's downtown, not north Baton Rouge. Much more likely to see homeless people than thugs.

Not interested in giving that out and then having a bunch of OT fools lurking on me and my date!

Was just thinking of narrowing down area
I still suggest Perkins Rowe over downtown

You're taking a date to the shooting range?

I'm already out of advice for you. You're probably weird. Go ask the Poli-board for date advice... They're right up your alley.

If not, any recommendations for something similar and quiet in the area where one could take a date to walk around or sit on a bench and talk?

Just take her to The Point.

Levee by the LSU Vet School or just wander around on campus.

This. I would park near Tiger Stadium and walk around - maybe grab some coffee at Nicholson Gateway, or a few drinks at Chimes (may need to park a little closer to the North Gates).
