This particular judge is part of the Johnson family cabal that currently runs the 19th JDC. None of them are going anywhere until death or election to a Circuit Court.
Said cabal, Eboni center

The Johnson dynasty at the 19th JDC is not draped in honor

poor girl gets raped
What happened to her was not ok and is against the law but the article never even insinuates he did more than proposition her for sex. He did send himself pics of her and turn off her location and make her follow him to another location which are all abuses of power and illegal.

Victim must have been a white girl.

Age limits say otherwise.

Or the poor girl lied and was trying to screw the man over (no pun intended) as the article suggests. Was he doing things he shouldn't have been doing on the job, probably.. but it sounds like she probably regretted whatever happened and got exposed in court by the defense.
Know how to prevent that? Don’t turn your body cam off

Eboni Rose Johnson is the new Trudy White. Her name is attached to many criminals getting off easy or all together.

That was never mentioned in the article. It said that he propositioned her. Did they leave that out or is that just an unconfirmed rumor/misunderstanding?
Going off memory or it was reported earlier, she claimed he grabbed her breasts. Could she be lying? Possibly, but everything he did was wrong and he turned off his body camera. And he lied to two other officers with LSU PD while on the scene. Right now she’s more believable.

She claims he touched her breast, otherwise, yeah doesn’t say anything about rape.

Is Franz Borghardt an up and coming Defense attorney in BR these days?
Who are the heavy hitter defense attorneys there now?

So Eboni didn’t want a black officer to be convicted on a felony charge and first tried to make up a misdemeanor law?
quote:
Prosecutors and defense attorneys asked for that judgment to be put on hold one day after the judge issued the verdict.
At issue, they argued, was that the judge convicted Steele of “misdemeanor” grade malfeasance even though the charge is considered a felony in state law. Misdemeanor grade malfeasance does not exist.
