Anyone mention Tiffin Inn yet for breakfast? My parents used to take us every Saturday morning. We always had the same waitress. That waitress put two kids through med school while working there.

- Dajonel’s
- Sicily’s pizza in its first location (I think) near LSU.
- Acadian Seafood (surely that fire was intentionally set)
- Restaurant is still there ( and everywhere), but I miss onion rings at Popeyes.
- Caterie

Giamanco's wasn't great but my grandmother liked it almost as much as Picadilly

My son and I had a discussion about Piccadilly tonight and I was telling him that back in the 80s on Friday nights my grandparents either went to Piccadilly or Giamanco’s. Their two favorite places.

If you liked home cooking on a buffet, it was awesome. They had good chicken and great sides.

I worked at Calendar's. And I agree. But the Patty Melt was pretty good.

I mentioned it briefly a page or 2 back. Reliable Motors on Airline is actually located in the gutted Tiffin Inn building.

My grandparents used to take me to the Piccadilly on Plank Road on Saturday afternoons for lunch in the 80s. It was a decent area at the time.

Stadium Cafe - when they still had dorms there, could get a midnight chicken fried steak or even a decent PoBoy before watching Letterman make fun of his guests. Walked across the lot from Hatcher.

Tiger Burger in Tigerland
Mr Gatti’s buffet
Panchos sucked but it was so cheap

Taco joint on highland - can’t remember name but had 25c tacos and beer until midnight on Tuesdays

Calenders sucked except for the Touchdowns.

I liked Calendars when I was in high school. Seem to recall them having pretty good chicken tenders with honey mustard. Also recall a fried crawfish salad that was pretty good too. Of course, I was in high school and probably not the best judge of fine dining.

Anybody mention the Orange Bowl in Cortana Mall? Had that frozen orange sherbet thing called the O-Joy and I even recall them having an ok burger.

Again, I was young and not quite refined in my tastes.

Delmont Village. My dad grew up in that area and they would go eat at that Piccadilly on Sundays after church.

Nooley's had a steakburger with an awesome taste. It was big but not giant. Add some curly fries and it was a tremendous meal.

ETA: Nooley's was on Florida.
