all for a virus that since May 1st 2020, of the 49,047 total deaths in the United States in the age range of children 0-17, 331 children have died due to COVID-19 (according to the CDC as of July 7th). Which of course is a fraction of the deaths in that age range compared to homicide, drowning, car accidents, influenza, and pneumonia. and of those COVID-19 related deaths in that age range, most are likely children with severe birth defects or other illnesses.
muh, science.

Just FYI - my kid is at SMHS right now for tech training, sitting 6 feet from other and sitting at a desk with a mask on. While at the same time the danceline that she is on is having kids dance camp in the gym. They just posted a picture and NOT ONE MASK IS ON.

Everyone seems to be railing on the BR Diocese for this stuff, but they are simply following the State of Louisiana's guidelines for schools.

They’re not required to follow that, they forced kids under the guidelines to wear masks last year

and they have the ability to say "thanks for the guidelines but we are not forcing kids to wear masks again"

People are railing on the diocese because that’s the closest somewhat decision making body to them. The state is a level up. If the diocese gets enough pushback they will send it up the chain.
Teachers have to be sick of this shite right?

I was very polite too and made it clear from the beginning I am not blaming you, but I just wanted to talk and voice concerns

This pretty much sums up everything about this entire debacle.

SJA and Catholic aren't under the BR diocese so they aren't following this shite.
has this been confirmed? the SJWs at SJA might disagree

They got a 3.9 star rating on Google. Time to drop that a bit. Make sure you use their verbiage against them. Call it for what it is, discrimination.

I agree with most of the replies to my comment - I was more just pointing out the root of the guidelines, not arguing the point that the diocese has some flexibility here.
The first part of your statement is true. But the Bishop stated in the letter that they followed the state guidelines before, and used that as a precedent for following them again. It'll be interesting to see the degree to which schools make their own rules based on parent response to this.
I think the 2nd part of your statement is probably not true for many people. I know plenty of people who would still send their kids to Catholic schools even if local public schools were any good. Either way, a Catholic diocese is basically a governing body. Anyone thinking there won't be politics and bureaucracy because it's "the church" and therefore "separate from state" is just being foolish.
I do wonder how much this will be an issue in some pockets - my older two kids and their friends are all vaccinated. Most of the adults I work with and socialize with are vaccinated. But the numbers say that 6 in 10 adults in LA aren't vaccinated...

I think this is a situation where calling and complaining absolutely will work
Cutting off tithes and offering and volunteering is the only thing that will work. Calling won’t do anything.

They get enough of those calls they will fold. Its exactly why Jesuit announced a no mask policy period. The donors made the calls

But go look at the 70s in BR before busing
Catholic schools were around, but their enrollment was not that big
Public school went to shite, and they exploded

I 100% GUARANTEE you that the gubmint is going to crack down on what they're going to brand unlicensed schools if you dare to homeschool a kid other than your own and those indoctrination centers see their enrollment numbers and dollars dry up.
