Neither are controlled by the Diocese.

This petition has close to 4,000 signatures just since this morning. These are the people you want leading your schools, not the sheep terrified of COVID 19 lawsuits but oblivious to personal injury lawsuits, from mandating children take experimental vaccines that can cause nerve damage, or mandating mask use that causes slow brain cell death.

Don't think that the insanity is going to end after this school year, either.

It won’t end until people either push back actively or everyone gets vaccinated. Even once everyone is vaccinated I don’t think restrictions will be let go.

With 4,000 people signing, that would represent about 3 Catholic grade schools’ worth of parents! Is the Diocese listening? Do they have any school or parish properties they would like to sell?

How many students even go to Catholic schools in the Br diocease for k-8 schools?

It cant be much more than 5k right? So thats likely represented by what, 3500 or so families because some will have multiple kids. So them having 4k speaks volumes

I'm sure it's uncomfortable for your other half, but this person has a duty to speak on the behalf of the students and families at his or her specific school. These are private schools, and parents are paying to not be under the direct influence of the parish/state. Private schools do what they want all of the time.

Administrators have a lot of pull where their school is concerned, and this includes public, as well.

I'm sure only half are legit signatures. Still a lot for only being up 6+ hours.

I’ve never thought about it but initially that number seemed awfully low to me. But maybe not.

I wonder how many students the Diocese lost this year due to COVID 19, who are now being homeschooled. I have heard too that due to COVID 19, a significant number of students moved from public to private schools. It is unfortunate the Diocese is not at the forefront of promoting public funding of students, not school systems. Ultimately, school choice benefits every child, over the interests of educational bureaucrats.

Most Catholic schools do not want public school money. Some may say racism but I believe it’s much more about public school system oversight of dollars are going to that school.

I learned the Catholic church is liberal

I don't think this is about liberal ideology...although we know that does exist in places in the Church.

This is a case where the few who are in a position to set a direction have decided (either on their own or in connection with another group that may be political) that kids need to be vaccinated. This is an attempt to make it VERY uncomfortable for kids that are not vaccinated...with the intent of twisting their arm.

This isn't an attempt to protect students or teachers at the school. Anyone can tell that doesn't makes sense. These students are living a mask/vaccine free life right now with the same friends they will have in school.

Frankly, it's sinful, IMO.

Please do not call or email the schools. They do not want this, they did not ask for this, and they don’t want to manage this. They are simply the messenger for what Acadian Thruway hierarchy is handing down. Trust me, this is not what they want to see with school coming back.

All of that is true. However, they need to hear it. People have to include the priest though.

And to the people that say the principals are getting together… that is false, there has been no discussion as a group of coming together to fight this, or meet. Zero. I sleep with an admin nightly. They’re having a rough day as messengers

Right now you have two different approaches from the principals. One group is blaming the diocese and recommending parents reach out to the diocese directly.

The other group is trying to lay a little bit lower. But, it is absolutely true that the principals and admins at the schools don't want this and are hoping it changes.

I think that's what a lot of people don't realize. The school office is very much aligned with the parents. They are just caught in the middle. A lot of people don't want to hear it and need someone to scream at.

There are currently ~16,000 students in the Diocese.

Some are siblings, but you get the idea.

They are paid to lead and act… not sit back and “hope”.

When I disagree with my boss I voice my opinion. These principles need to meet with their boss and let them know that the current policy is completely stupid.

I signed it and my kids don’t go to Catholic school, bc I hate the mask up crowd. I’m sure most of the signatures are not parents of students
