Didn't he say that BR doesn't have a crime problem the other day?

Here's your BRPD Police Chief, Murphy Paul, blaming BR crime on "generational trauma" and the lack of "support for black boys" from, presumably, you.

I watched the whole speech and that's not what he was saying at all.

There are things Murphy Paul can be criticized for but you're grossly mischaracterizing his words here IMO. He actually lays out what I would call a conservative/right wing ideological framework about the causes of crime.

Disregard for education, no value for human life, breakdown of the family unit, lack of church and community anchors, not caring about consequences, etc.

Here's what Councilwoman, Chauna Banks, had to say about that very issue...

If I were the Police Chief, especially rearing young BLACK sons, I WOULD MOST CERTAIN WOULD NOT LIVE IN SAME COMMUNITY I police

Then we didn't watch the same thing.

Nor do you know Murphy like the rest of us do.

Crime Due to "Generational Trauma"

Due to other blacks, their own willingness to be generational welfare recipients and Democratic voters, and generations not coming from 2 parent homes.

Anyway if true you would think situation in BR would be improving even in some small minuscule ways not getting worse over past 15 or so years.

The only people who buy this are the ones they keep ignorant or the ones who have lower expectations for blacks than they have for other races.

Did he say most people do a better job at all of that compared to African Americans?

How can you have “generational trauma” if you don’t know your family?

Holy frick. Murphy Paul just blamed the current crime problem on the cops for locking up black men addicted to crack 30 years ago.
He implied that our criminals today are the result of taking fathers away from black boys. Wow.

Even if their dads weren’t in jail, they probably would never see them.

I think you are latching on to a phrase and assuming that it implies blame to the white race without listening to what the man actually said. But, go ahead and incite anger because you so easily get your feelings hurt.

Vietnamese came over in the 70's and were presumably allowed to drink from the same water fountains.

Not the case as late as 1964 for a certain group .... so how do you think the different rules for aid, loans, housing etc would play out over generations ?

So many barriers existed to acquire and build wealth, it's hardly surprising there is a cycle of poverty, crime and hardship with no real solution on our lifetime.

Drugs and crime will never go away in BR. BR is way too big of a drug hub to completely oust it. Feel like BR leaders are failing to put a choke hold on it though. Choke holds have been put on in the past.
