Stones Throw Jefferson at Essen. Never understood why anyone would evacuate BR. Kinda like the safest place to be relative to the other southern LA cities I thought.

Are we going on the west side of eye wall?
The track keeps wobbling between Walker and Baton Rouge but right now it has the eye going over Walker, Denham, and catching Central and maybe even Woodlawn.

Some people don't like being without power for weeks?

Changed my mind this am. Headed west right now.
I’m not from BR. I’m starting to notice the disproportionate fear of weather from people here generally. Not you specifically because everyone makes their own choice, but people act like I tell them I just saw Bigfoot when I say we are prepared and staying and not afraid or even all that concerned.
I’ve dug a tree out of a living room before to get to my great grandmother after a storm. I don’t have any trees that big close enough to hit my house.
Food water gas and ammo for weeks or a month if we stretch it. Ready to get this over with

I get your mentality, seems with me the older I get the more anxious I’ve become, and I’m from nola

No power, house hitting trees, lines for gas, stores wiped clean. Some people would rather just bail and come back in a few days.
I know during Gustav we had a 1.5 yr old and no power for 8 days. It was pretty miserable.

I guess some good news is this hurricane is going to drag itself across more land to get to Baton Rouge than Laura had to before it got to Lake Charles, Deridder, and Leesville.

Parents and brother riding it out in Sherwood Forest area. I think I’m more nervous than them!

My father-in-law has a lot of health issues and is stubborn about leaving. He also has a whole-house generator with no big trees nearby so I took the 5-minute drive to his house near Sherwood and that's where I'll be riding it out.

What kind of winds will Walker see if the eye passes over them directly.
